I am having a few symptoms that I keep forgetting to bring up to my Dr and I wanted reassurance that it is my anxiety and that it will pass.

    1. When I start worrying about something I immeidately think my life is terrible and I am never going to get better. It is like an underlying feeling I am worried that this will eventually lead to suicidial thoughts and that adds more fear.

    2. I feel weird when I over hear other ppl talking about their lives. For example today I over heard a person at work in the other room talking about how he quit college and made me feel weird like I was wondering how he could live with that decision, how much stronger I was mentally in my college days, how I couldn't handle college in my current state, etc.

I will do the same thing with characters in movies and tv shows when i am anxious. I will project myself onto them or their situations in a similar way. It makes it impossible to enjoy such activities.

Are these typical for someone struggling with gad?

    Thanks

    Hello everyone.
Does any of you has the feeling of stuffy nose?? Since my anxiety started with some of the symptoms that were mentioned before.
I've found my nasal breathing has damaged. Always feel my nose is block.
    Have you heard about that??

Probably one of the most common symptoms of anxiety. When you feel better, this will go away.

4 days ago i had an "attack". I was under a lot of stress for work and fighting with my husband. In the middle of an intense argument, I hyperventilated and had sharp tingling around my mouth and hands (had it once before) but this time, I also lost control of the right side of my mouth for 30 secs and couldnt speak. after couple min the attack passed however i was left with a numbness feeling on the right side of my face. Today 4 days after, I still feel that my face is a bit off and when i speak, i feel like i am not moving the right side of my mouth properly and spoke at times a bit funny.
i went to the hospital and had a CT scan and MRI/ MRA of my brain and all was fine and i am waiting to see a neurologist. I don't know whether I had what one would call "panic attack" or whether I had some neurological disease. I would assume it was a panic attack as I was in the middle of an fight. Is this normal though to still have this numbness 4 days after? when it does go away. It cant be permanent can it? I have never been this scared in my life. Any insight would be helpful. thank you

It was almost certainly a panic attack Numbness is a common anxiety symptom. How long it lasts will depend upon a lot of factors. But it is important that you don't stress about it as much as possible. Just accept you had a panic attack, there is nothing wrong with you (he medical tests would have shown otherwise) and de-stress as much as possible.

thank you SO much Teafrenzy. I didnt know whether I had a mini stroke ( but i am an otherwise healthy female in my 30s) or panic attack. I never knew that panic attacks can be this severe or that numbness can last for days ( i couldnt find any info on the duration of numbness anywhere). I was very very worried and my mind went to the worst places that I may have some permanent damage in my brain because of the mini stroke (but per ER rooms CT scan and MRI all was fine). then I though that I would feel numb forever and not be able to speak properly anymore. I will now focus on de stress and pray that the numbness will go away. Thank you so much

you're welcome. Your GP would spot a stroke ..plus the tests you undertook. Plus you are still young, so strokes are highly unlikely.
