    Citalopram

    Hi guys,

So after years of trying to find natural remedies for my anxiety and refusing to believe in the "chemical imbalance theory", I gave up and starting taking citalopram 10mg. Turns out natural remedies and CBT can only take me so far!

Just wanted to ask if anyone had any good experiences on citalopram. So far I've had side effects of terrible headaches, sweating and nausea, but no increased anxiety or anything like that. I'm a bit worried about going back to work tomorrow after the weekend and my anxiety increasing! But that's just me being anxious as per usual

I'd love to hear success stories....!

Everyone's different. Side effects tend to calm down once your body adapts. Levels of the drug will build up over 4-6 weeks. Some people take longer. Sometimes finding the right medication for you takes time. Remember that medication should only be a temporary measure - it's no cure for anxiety or depression, it simply helps mask symptoms so you can focus on other methods to help understand your anxiety and address root causes and beliefs which cause anxiety to occur so frequently.

How strong, how costly, the urge to fight our fate and turn back time. But life is meant to be consumed, not preserved to ward off doom. One can surely die from fear, before the end is ever near.

Citalopram was a good med for me. I'd been suffering from horrible dizzy spells for 3 years. I think my body had gotten so stressed that it had forgotten how to relax. The Citalopram took away the dizziness and I was able to go about normal life again. Sometimes that's all you need to spark a chain reaction that sees you get better.
