*sigh* I'm so scattered I closed the tab without saving it. It's around 30C at 11:30pm with the air-conditioning on. Tourists have been playing loud music and talking all day. People are driving cars and riding motorbikes along the freeway at high speed so it feels like I'm in some Mad Max film. My head hurts. I'm wired/anxious and don't want to lie down and try to sleep though. Music.. Thank God for music.

“Ever tried? Ever failed? No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.” –Samuel Beckett

Everything changes. Nothing stays the same. Feel the rawness of that fact, the bleeding-meat quality of it. It’s tragically delicious. It’s enchantingly heartbreaking. There’s an awful dread that comes with knowing that we are a fallible, prone-to-mistakes, and imperfectly mortal animal; but there is also a kind of terrible beauty to it, without which we wouldn’t have such concepts as meaning, beauty, and love. The idea that we can learn from our mistakes; that we can transform pain into knowledge, anger into courage, and hunger into love, is a profoundly ecstatic self-overcoming that has the potential to launch us into levels of evolution that we cannot currently fathom.

The cognitive guillotine (McGee’s Guillotine) is a chopping block of self-overcoming. It’s a constant shedding of the superfluous, a consistent “beheading” of the outdated and parochial thinking that has crippled our species into devolution. It’s a spiritual letting, an ontological bloodletting, and an existential letting go. It’s a sacred pruning toward numinous flourishing. So that which comes to us as root can go on as stalk, and that which comes to us as stalk can go on as a flowering, a Fibonacci sequencing of human evolution in the throes of the “journey being the thing;” which soars through the magnanimous glory of falling and getting back up again, of breaking apart and coming back together, of failing and failing better, of living and living better, and striving for that almighty beacon of hope: PHI, the eternal Tao, Infinity, and the unattainable beauty of enlightenment.

The page numbering in this sub-forum makes no sense.

Aaaaand I just wrote a few paragraphs, left the room for five minutes and it’s gone. I was deciding on some music. Well it’s definitely Die Antwoord because now I am pissed off. Beware, it’s offensive. Rat Trap 666 because I feel like a goddamn rat in a cage. Jesus.

And none of the videos play properly. Does anything in this shithole world actually work as it should anymore??

I don’t know.. Garbage.

I was on iPad, so yeah phone. Never mind.. It was just me venting while in a rage

My biggest issue is noise. There are times during the day when the freeway has trucks coming off it and they’re changing down gears, so it’s really loud and horrible. On top of that one of the neighbours is doing some renovation or something, using power tools. Then he plays loud music and talks loudly outside. Tourists renting houses as well, who play music and talk til all hours (often drunk). I have to resort to earplugs, which helps but it’s not nice in your own home. My irritability goes through the roof and I just want to scream “shut up!!”

Anyway I have to get to the supermarket. Being Xmas Eve it’s my only chance it won’t be packed (it’s 7:30am). I’m excited about Xmas being over soon hahaha. Talk to you soon :)

I am with you on that, I do not like any holidays at all, shopping when is so many people in store is a torture for me. I had seen some noise cancelling headphones maybe it would be answer for you. My grandchild sleeps in my house with ear plugs. They go camping all the time and learned if they want to get any sleep earplugs are the answer.
Anyway rant as much as you heart desire Gypsy :)

I did it but by 9am it was chaos, as in hard to actually *leave* the carpark.

Some idiot is now hammering. He was talking before and he has the most annoying voice I’ve ever heard I think. It’s really monotone and loud. LOL. I sound like the biggest whinger but people don’t understand my sensitivity to noise. Autistic people go crazy if it’s too noisy. I’m not autistic but I’ve read PTSD increases it as well and I’m sure I have a bit of that. It’s also just the fact people are so thoughtless. If I ever make loud noises I’m so conscious of how it might affect other people but so many people just don’t care.

I’m going to mum’s tonight, which is really quiet. Only problem is it has mum in it hahaha!

Dahila

yes I do understand, noises like hammering are awful. I had lived 12 years in subsidized housing and I can relate, Whole night and day there were such activity, drug dealers , crazy people , drunk people, break in in every unit except mine, but I had a dog everyone was scared off her. She was like me antisocial. So you had not done the shopping?

I’m glad Xmas is almost over. I’m so drained by it though and I didn’t even really do anything. It’s just the usual struggle with that on top. I don’t need it and I think a lot of other people are the same but they go through the motions. I’ve refused to go through the motions generally, for a few years now. It can’t be avoided though. I came to mum’s because it’s quiet. Well there were people yelling and screaming at some party, then at about 1am someone was talking right outside my window. My anxiety was really high and I was up most of the night. I slept for a long time though, which is great because I’ve been waking up after about 1.5 hours for *months* now. I’m still very weary though. I need quiet, solitude and darkness to recharge and it’s so hard to get atm. I need creativity and inspiration, and that’s like getting blood out of a stone in this culture. It’s just survival for most people, most of the time. I can’t possibly live how I’d like to under these conditions. I try hard to be grateful for what I’ve got but it’s human nature to want more (and I don’t mean more money).

As I was driving to mum’s I saw an echidna crossing the road. I stopped and just watched it. My friend in London had to google echidnas because he didn’t know what they were! We do have strange animals. But things like that are highlights of my day. Not going to shopping malls full of people in some kind of mass hysteria.. That sucks the life right out of me.

wow cute animal, I also had to search for it, just not on google. looks like hedgehog a bit, I would do like you stop and watch. I love watching animals and birds. Yeah I still have to go to my daughter house at 6 pm and it scares beejesus of me , I hate this social occasions. First of all I am hearing aids user and when few people start to talk at the same time (eveytimes it happens) I am lost and can not follow any conversation so I am sitting there like idiot. My daughter whispering something to me, and I do not react of course cause her boyfriend is speaking loudly. So my girl ask me like I am demented already; Mom did you put your hearing aids in. Nothing pisses me on as much as her question. Why it is difficult to understand that hearing aids do not work like natural hearing. This is why i avoid any social situation. As you expect I feel so anxious I can not eat anything. My blood pressure goes up of course, I can not have regular food so they spend fucken time to explain to me that there are good carbs and bad carbs. I try to tell them that there is not such thing; carbs are carbs does not matter where they come from. Eh keep you fingers crossed that I do survive today :)) Take Care G.

I slept pretty much all weekend. I felt guilty but after months of broken sleep and insomnia I figured my body needed it. It was nice, I must admit :)

Now I’m just trying to cope with the tourists. They’re all here now. The people across the road are currently playing horrible loud music. These people don’t give a shit.. They come here to have a good time and everyone else can go to hell.

No, it’s much worse. I’d like to know what the Indigenous Australians have to say about it. They never get much of a say in anything though. I mean they should be involved in the prevention and things like that, but what would they know? They’ve only been here for 40,000+ years

P!nk donated $500,000 yesterday and some big celebrities have Tweeted important messages (Bette Midler was very funny and had a go at the Prime Minister). American and Canadian firefighters are here helping. Our PM has become a joke and I just hope this shows him up to the whole world.

I’ve been reading about the fires. This article sums the whole thing up well: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/03/opinion/australia-fires-climate-change.html

“..We need more able people to defend the town as we are in for bad heat from Friday again. Tucks area will be a problem from today, but trees down on all tracks, and no one to fight it.

We are tired, but ok.

But we are here in 2020!

Love

Us”

The bookstore in the fire-ravaged village of Cobargo, New South Wales, has a new sign outside: “Post-Apocalyptic Fiction has been moved to Current Affairs.”

And yet, incredibly, the response of Australia’s leaders to this unprecedented national crisis has been not to defend their country but to defend the fossil fuel industry, a big donor to both major parties — as if they were willing the country to its doom. While the fires were exploding in mid-December, the leader of the opposition Labor Party went on a tour of coal mining communities expressing his unequivocal support for coal exports. The prime minister, the conservative Scott Morrison, went on vacation to Hawaii.

.....

“Australia is a burning nation led by cowards,” wrote the leading broadcaster Hugh Riminton, speaking for many. To which he might have added “idiots,” after Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack blamed the fires on exploding horse manure.

Such are those who would open the gates of hell and lead a nation to commit climate suicide.

———-

I’m never one to advocate the death penalty but this is like an act of Treason. The country is already economically f***ed thanks to the government. I don’t even know what this means for us. People want blood at the moment.

Well she can get in line. Now some other fat middle-aged politician is involved. I’ve been under a rock for so long I don’t even know who he is and I’m beyond caring. Sack the bloody lot of them.

There’s this video of a koala in the fire and I don’t know if it’s getting burnt alive or what because I can’t watch it. Koalas sit high in trees and sleep or eat all day. They only move to change positions and you rarely see them on the ground. So what all those animals must have gone through would have been horrific. I keep crying when I see the pics. I also cried about the little girl in the boat wearing a mask. She looks so scared and like my daughter when she was younger.

Make no mistake - this is not just a bad bushfire season for Australia. It’s out of the ballpark. It’s not over either.. The really dry part of summer is usually end of January-February. It’s a fucking disaster and it’s being led by people who I honestly don’t think care very much. I wouldn’t be surprised if Morrison’s got plans with mates like Rupert Murdoch to shack up on some island somewhere. I’ve already read stuff from the US that he’s not utilising resources they’ve got which he could (and probably said he would). The man has lied and lied, and keeps lying. He’s starting to make Donald Trump and Boris Johnson look good.

Anyhoo, I think I’ve had enough reality. I need to go look at art, read philosophy and poetry, and listen to music. And of course, talk to the Self!

Very important to regularly connect with the Self. Even if you're going through a very hard time, like Ponder was when he lost weight and his friends said he looked like a cancer patient, it's important to re-centre.

And it's also important to make sure your inbox doesn't get so full that nobody can message you.

I know he's frustrated about things, but he has a lot to appreciate in his life. He lives in a safe part of the world, he has a loving wife, and he's devastatingly handsome (despite his torn asshole).

I'm going for a channeling session to cheer myself up. With luck, I'll be able to channel me, the Self.

Christ, now WW3 is looming. I had a fit of depression last night and I think it’s safe to say that if you *aren’t* anxious/depressed there’s something wrong with you. I’ve been saying this for years but it’s getting beyond a joke.

What separates human beings from other animals is our ability to think forwards and backwards. That’s why we get anxious and depressed. If you look to the future now, it’s really not looking all that bright, is it? So I came to the conclusion the way to deal with this is living more in the moment. Mindfulness and so forth (though I don’t like that word much because it’s become such a buzzword).

I’ve read a lot about Eastern philosophy and they are the experts. Taoism is sort of the pinnacle of Hinduism and Buddhism and is the “religion” of the Zen masters. Zen is something most Westerners would find very difficult to even conceive of, let alone practice. The Zen masters can spend 17 hours a day meditating and take a lifetime to achieve mastery (if they ever do). I don’t really understand it and I’ve read books and listened to lectures.

But the Western mind is so “programmed” to look to the future in particular that it’s very very difficult to live in the moment. I’m better at it than I was because I’ve lived on the edge a lot and haven’t *had* much of a future. Taking each day as it comes is pretty normal for me now. I still need some sense of a future though.. Like some reassurance the human race and the planet won’t be in a state of crisis. I’m just not feeling that right now at all. I don’t know what the answer is. I sure would like some competent leaders thiugh.

I had some hardcore anxiety last night. Lately it’s almost impossible when I’m like that to just lie down because I don’t want to face the full force of it. So I do stuff on my iPad.. Go from Twitter to FB to forums to YouTube, looking for any distraction I can find. That strategy isn’t so bad when I don’t have to do anything the next day but today I do. So I forced myself to stop and just lie down. The anxiety hit me like a ton of bricks and that shit is nasty. My mind screams for anything to take the edge off it.

Claire Weekes said some very insightful things about this. Anxiety is basically fear, which means your body is flooded with adrenaline. She called this the “first fear”. The big problem is that when that’s happening the mind wants to get involved and it comes up with what she called the “second fear”. That’s all the “what ifs?” where you start imagining all the terrible things that might happen. The second fear fuels the first fear. So the trick is to stop the second fear. She had an acronym — F.A.F.L. Face, Accept, Float, Let Time Pass. For me the words “let time pass” have a calming effect. She used specific words (which is very clever if you know about linguistics). So I say that to myself and just lie there and be still. Last night it worked and I fell asleep.

That can work! Just stuff like Candy Crush. Sometimes I switch all the sound off, put some electronic music on and I can get in this zone where I have dream flashbacks. It’s like my brain changes frequency. It’s sort of a long-term project though.

So yesterday I had to go to this appointment towards the city. Then I met my dad for lunch at this shopping mall. That all went pretty well, but by the time we’d finished it was 4pm or so, which means peak-hour. It was hot too. I thought, “Jesus, I have to get home in the traffic and the heat”. My reticence was not unfounded.

Driving back along the freeway is psychotic. If you aren’t doing 100kph you inevitably have some huge ute/truck thing right up your arse. My car isn’t small but it’s considered a “ladies’ 4WD” ie. small compared to these big hunks of metal. It’s also fairly old and doesn’t change from 2nd to 3rd gear properly, so I annoy people by not taking off fast enough.

This experience is pure torture for me. I can drive pretty well and I quite enjoy it sometimes, like when I’m driving at night or through the hills. But the atmosphere on the road at peak hour is just horrible. All these people with big, new cars, desperate to get from A to B (work to home) is no way to live. Most of those cars are under finance too (Australia has the second highest household debt in the world).

Joe Rogan sums this up well: https://youtu.be/vqSE5LJzYao

Then gradually the games got more and more boring until King Games took over completely with Candy Crush etc. There are other companies but there’s so little money in those games now noone bothers much. King has one called AlphaBetty Saga which is quite good but I’m up to level 400 or something and I get too annoyed. My dad is up to some crazy level like 1500

Why are the Aussies trying to be like the Yanks by voting in oil-loving religious nuts?

I don't know. Something went wrong around 2010 when they hounded Julia Gillard so much I'm surprised she didn't have a stroke. Tony Abbott got in and he's pretty serious Catholic. But at least the rest of the world is seeing this. We are not the Lucky Country anymore, nor are we progressive or anything like we used to be. We're a fossil-fueled police state run by a Born Again Christian. It all comes back to the fossil himself, Rupert Murdoch I think. Did you see that his son had a go at him for being a climate change denier? The old bastard said he isn't a *denier*, he's a *skeptic* hahah.

We had storms here yesterday afternoon and rain. I had to go to the shops and it was bliss honestly. You really appreciate the weather when it gets as horrible as ours has been. At one point the light outside was a sort of dark yellow and it was hot. I'm really sensitive to things like that and it felt so wrong. After the rain I felt like I could breathe again.

That's an interesting signature. Did you make that up yourself?

Last night's hilarity.. This guy (some radio host?) had a fit about the NZ PM going on holiday overseas. The other people on the show were like "well her country wasn't on fire" and he went on about how she should just stay in her country. It was totally irrational and in the end he sort of admitted he was just in a bad mood.

But see in the article how it says Twitter "unleashed fury"? I just find these things funny. Sometimes I have to get off there because people start getting too PC and my opinions would be inappropriate. People take things too seriously.

Pretty much, but Australia has gone downhill so fast. We’re used to one of the highest standards of living in the world and now it’s just crap.

This is where I grew up. Yes I was spoilt

1935

Bob Hawke then Paul Keating were our Prime Ministers. They weren’t perfect but compared to who we’ve got now.. :(

Melbourne’s population is growing at the same rate as cities in China because of their mass immigration policy. I’ve got nothing against the Chinese or Indians but we just haven’t got the infrastructure. Our public transport system is pathetic compared to cities like New York and London but that’s how big Melb is headed. Healthcare is now terrible, no room in hospitals.. Universities used to be free for Aust citizens.. Wages haven’t gone up much in years but cost of living has gone through the roof.. The environment is fucked.. And so on. Oh and the police state - we’ve always been a Nanny State with tons of rules, but they’ve ramped it up to a scary level. “Fossil-Fuelled Police State” it’s been described as.

What do you do when you hide away? Watch TV?

I’ve seen your scruffy look and it’s not freakish like Boris. He’s like a cartoon character. You know he went to Eton right? That should put you off him :)

No I hate most TV. If I watch stuff it’s series by HBO etc or films. But last year it was almost exclusively music on YouTube for months. I made about 30 folders of stuff and had this online journal where I posted lyrics. I learnt heaps. It was kind of a way of grieving for my brother (cos he was a muso).

I also read a lot (philosophy, poetry, religion eg. Alan Watts on Zen hehe, Terence McKenna on psychedelics, Astrology/Mythology).

When I have no money and nothing to do I sleep :) Sleeping’s great. I’m pretty good at entertaining myself at home.. I do go out most days/nights, just to get food usually. Or to mum’s

Canada are Sweden are probably the two most PC countries. They pride themselves on it, which often means they do dumb stuff just so they can appear more virtuous.

I think people need to stop listening to these ridiculous outspoken LGBT activists. The Self disapproves.

Was it you who likes JK Rowling? I like her too.. A lot. She’s sort of the leader of what the transgender mob call TERFs (trans exclusive radical feminists). They use it like you’re the most hateful person in the world. It’s the main thing that caused me to distance myself from feminism altogether.

Well JK Rowling got hounded for saying something along the lines of “transgender women are *not* the same as biological women”. You should see how nasty they get about that. I feel really strongly about it because women’s biology is much more complicated - we have babies for fuck’s sake, plus our endocrine systems are different..

It also sets a precedent for men to get away with even more shit. So she’s got this motto thing which basically says do wtf you want, dress how you want etc, but we are not the same as you. I followed a bit of the feminist shit and it’s unbelievable. I wrote a tweet about how I started reading feminist books in the early 90s and there was no arguments with men or women about anything. Guys might give you a bit of shit but, nothing like the drama you see now. It’s the internet and I wrote how much simpler it was without it. I also said I’d rather not be debating sex vs gender while we go up in flames or float out to sea

gypsylee
01-28-2020, 01:19 PM
Yeah, I like how Rowling didn't backtrack on her comments.

What bugs me most about these people is how their aim is to shut down debate. Even when they're not screaming at and insulting people, they're calling them phobes, which is wrong, because it implies the person talking is irrational and doesn't have a valid argument.

Game of Thrones has a very legit quote for these activists: "When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say."

P.S. If we're allowed to choose which bathroom we want to use, I'm gonna start using the women's one. There's more cubicles in women's bathrooms. I like peace and quiet when I take a leak so I can ponder at length on the mysteries of The Self.

What really pisses me off about them is how they want access to all this hormonal treatment and whatnot. I’m a biological female who needs help with hormones and no doctor knows fucking anything or even takes it that seriously. They’re a very loud minority who need to get in line.

One interesting thing about this I learnt is that as usual the pharmaceutical companies are in on it. I think in the UK in particular, gender dysmorphia or whatever it’s called, is actually pushed by doctors because the pharma companies can make money out of it. The worst is when kids are encouraged. There are groups on twitter of people who’ve had the shit done then gone back to their original sex. It’s crazy.

Yes I like to Ponder the Self in peace when I go to the loo as well :D

Anyway so Canberra area still on fire. This cheered me up though. The fluorescent pink slug! https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2020/jan/28/fluorescent-pink-slug-unique-to-australian-mountaintop-survives-bushfires

How far are you from Canberra? Are you going back to hibernating?

Ugh. I really avoid the whole transgender topic because it annoys the hell out of me. I’ve heard about various cases where doctors have ignored the parents’ views on their kid’s “gender”.

Long way from Canberra. Those really big fires on the coast at New Year were much closer. But hell yeah I’m hibernating because a) Tourists are still here and b) It’s getting hot today til Friday. I get a bit of satisfaction on hot days bc my airconditioner is almost new and it blasts cool air. I have to change it to just the fan after 5 mins bc I get too cold.

I think there are genuine cases where the person feels like they’re in the wrong body (male or female) but it’s a tiny minority. Now it’s like people wake up depressed and think “I must have gender dysphoria and I’m actually a woman!”

There’s a new feminist movement on Twitter who say the trans thing is bullshit and harmful to biological women because men can just say they identify as a woman (they don’t need to have surgery or even take hormones or dress like women). So they can go around exactly like a biological man but say they’re a woman! There’s so many things that can go wrong with that and women have enough to worry about.

They don’t realise how offensive it is when real women go through childbirth, periods every month, menopause etc, and they just decide they feel like a woman. Then they abuse us for saying “well you’re not a biological woman”. Seriously, they can be very nasty.

So I’m all excited because for a while there feminism was a huge mess and I just kept my mouth shut, mainly bc of that transgender thing. They also try to change language with this whole pronoun thing where you can’t say he or she. There’s a whole lot of made up words. I refuse to use them because I think they’re based on shit people have made up and because changing language like that is dangerous. Orwell uses that concept in 1984.

Australia still burning:

An out-of-control bushfire presents an immediate threat to the Australian capital and the surrounding regions. Fires in Australia have killed 33 people and an estimated 1 billion animals since September.

Australian officials on Friday declared a state of emergency in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), including for the national capital of Canberra, as a large bushfire threatens to become uncontrollable amid high temperatures and strong winds. "The combination of extreme heat, wind and a dry landscape will place suburbs in Canberra's south at risk," the territory's Chief Minister Andrew Barr told reporters.

Some 100 fires are also burning elsewhere in the country, including 58 active blazes in the surrounding state of New South Wales, 20 in the southeastern state of Victoria and 20 in South Australia. Temperatures across NSW and Victoria were forecast to reach 40 degrees C (104 degrees F) going into the weekend.

Unbelievable. the fire , it is awful . nature will be reborn , lost lifes not.
What is this movement on twitter ? Of course it is hurting woman.
lets start from the sports; how biological man can compete with woman. That's crazy. Till they do not start to have birth they are not woman. I will rather say it than she for a men. Look we have Yanif would be Jessica ; a monster and predator using social system and abusing it. This transgender trend is too ruin families and normal relationship. Family is like a healthy cell, if you break it apart there is not power to fight the globalists, the Lgbt movement another perverty thing very political. And Donald Trump has escaped impeachment I think? These men are psychopaths and we’re going to end up with fascism. I mean Scott Morrison getting away with what he has isn’t normal and they’ve been creating a police state for years.

The “poor man’s” benzos I get are anti-histamines (for hay fever and allergic reactions). You can get them over-the-counter usually. They’re sedating but only work for a couple of days/nights at a time. These are the names of the active ingredient (or whatever you call it) because brand names differ between countries..

—Promethazine is a first-generation antihistamine. It is used to treat allergies, trouble sleeping, and nausea. It may help with some symptoms associated with the common cold. It may also be used for sedating people who are agitated or anxious.

—Doxylamine is a first-generation antihistamine used as a short-term sedative and hypnotic (sleep aid) or in combination formulations to provide night-time allergy and cold relief.

They treat benzos like gold, not letting you have any even if you beg. The funny thing is, if you go to the hospital and say you're suicidal because of anxiety, they'll give you a big handful. I'd do that if I could stand the 6 hour wait to see the emergency psychiatrist.

I am happy to see you. Yep so the craziness is all over the world, Doctors have power over us, at least they think they do .........

I’m still alive. I’ve had an ear infection and had to get antibiotics from the doctor. It was so painful I haven’t even been listening to music because the headphones hurt.. I think even the vibrations from the music hurt. It’s better now (4 days on antibiotics) but still blocked and I need the doctor to clean it out.

The forum looks busy all of a sudden? I’ve got no energy atm though :(

Geez, what a crazy summer for the Aussies, eh?

Self :) You got out from under the goat. Yeah, fantastic summer.. I’m not anxious about the virus like I was about the fires. It was surreal at first but my situation is better than a lot of people. I’m just annoyed that as usual people have no common sense or consideration for others. The toilet paper thing is just ridiculous. The next suburb down the peninsula from me was in the news lol. the incubation period is from 7 to 14 days, I am on day 5 of my self isolation. I think Poland have the smallest number of infections. 7 people died but there is almost 39 million people. I am kind of worry about Canada , we do not have unbiased source of information. So you have no idea what is going on. I have no idea if anything is in the stores. What about medication? Are they stocked enough? I mean my regular meds for my lungs,
yeah I feel bad about leaving my family early. it suck when you wait 17 years to go and have to cut the vacation short due the craziness.
I do as my daughter told me cause after two weeks if I am not sick I will see my grandchild and could give her the jewelry i got for her. ehhhh
I think I will go for a ride in my car, It is not in garage as I originally left it, my hubby parked it on driveway. I guess my breaks are all rusted now. eh, will take a ride to clean them

Invincible -- TOOL

Long in tooth and soul
Longing for another win
Lurch into the fray
Weapon out and belly in

Warrior struggling
To remain consequential
Bellow aloud
Bold and proud
Of where I've been
But here I am

Beating chest and drums
Beating tired bones again
Age-old battle, mine
Weapon out and belly in

Tales told of battles won
Of things we've done
Caligula would grin

Beating tired bones
Tripping through remember when
Once invincible
Now the armor's wearing thin

Heavy shield down
Warrior struggling
To remain relevant
Warrior struggling
To remain consequential

Cry aloud
Bold and proud
Of where I've been
But here I am
Where I end
Warrior struggling
To remain relevant
Warrior struggling
To remain consequential

Tears in my eyes
Chasing Ponce de Leon's phantom
So filled with hope
I can taste mythical fountains
False hope, perhaps
But the truth never got in my way
Before now, feel the sting

Feeling time bearing down
Tears in my eyes
Chasing Ponce de Leon's phantom
So filled with hope
I can taste mythical fountains
False hope, perhaps
But the truth never got in my way
Before now, feel the sting

Feeling time bearing down
False hope, perhaps
But the truth never got in my way
Before now, feel the sting
Feeling time bearing down

Bearing down

Come back Self!! Are you trapped under another goat?

I've got a dental abscess I think. Did I already say that? I've been knocked out on oxycodone.. Haven't had it in over a year and got no tolerance. At one stage I could function on 80mg. Now I'm on the nod after 10mg. Got antibiotics as well - I did a telehealth call with my GP and it was so easy. He faxed the scripts through to the chemist and I picked them up. I gotta admit, I'm loving the virus in some ways. Unfortunately I can't get the damn tooth pulled or root-cannalled over the phone.

All these infections are related to diabetes. It lowers immunity and makes the body more prone to infection. I've been taking my temperature through all this (the ear and the tooth) and it hasn't risen above normal once, so my immunity must still be pretty good. I can't get the diabetes under control though using the insulin needle system. I have a weird type (a combination of 1 & 2) and the doctors just don't understand it. So I'm looking at insulin pumps, which are like a mechanical pancreas and cost a fortune, but which I discovered are much cheaper overseas.. Including the UK (where I have relatives and my dad has bank accounts).

Other than that, my mother is staging some sort of grand finalé to her lifelong ridiculous behaviour. I can't go into details here because it will just make me angry. She's 78yo and has got herself in a situation that rivals even my worst in my 20s or 30s.

Despite this physical and emotional fuckery, I'm feeling pretty optimistic. I want to visit my daughter in June. She's doing well and has some supervisory job in a supermarket. She started as a checkout chick last year and they were impressed by her so she got promoted. With the whole Coronavirus thing she's actually in a good position career-wise. She's also got an inheritance sitting in the bank, which she's decided to use as part of a deposit on a house. I'm proud of her! Not in the way parents always say they're proud of their kids -- genuinely proud. We get along well too, so I like to think I've broken the cycle of emotional abuse I experienced with my mother.

That is all for now I think :)

This is after she whinged about me walking around wearing ugg boots and the fact my bathroom light shines through her windows! I just went outside and saw the guy across from her on his decking, so I had a word to him. I'm also going to go talk to the rental guy. She reckons she's leaving in a couple of weeks because this place is so horrible. She better be. I might be a non-conformist but I was raised to be considerate of other people. I was trying to leave but they kept stopping me. Some were even jumping on me and I was physically fighting them and trying to throw them off me. Others were screeching and yelling. It was horrible. The whole reason we were all there was that my MOTHER had gone insane.

That's good. We are about to get coldest weather in 60 years! Are no doctors doing phone consultations or just yours? I can understand if you don't want to find a new one. I was so glad to talk to my old doctor because he understands my problems, which are a combination of physical and mental, and a lot of them just don't get it.

I need to find a dentist to pull this tooth out (apparently they are doing emergency work). Antibiotics and painkillers have helped but sometimes when I eat it flares up and hurts like all hell. I'm not that scared of dentists - I've been that many times - but I want a private one. I've had a lot done in the public system and a lot of the dentists are pretty crap. Problem is $$$ of course. Unlike private doctors, dentists aren't subsidised by the government at all. So an extraction (which is one of the cheapest procedures) is around $200. Could be more now. A lot of Aussies on low incomes can't even go to the public dentist and can't afford private. So they just suffer.

For seven years I dwelt
In the loose palace of exile
Playing strange games
With the girls of the island
Now I have come again
To the land of the fair, & the strong, & the wise

Brothers and sisters of the pale forest
Children of Night
Who among you will run with the hunt?

Now Night arrives with her purple legion
Retire now to your tents & to your dreams
Tomorrow we enter the town of my birth
I want to be ready

Dinosauria, We
By Charles Bukowski

https://youtu.be/qQJengH58ow

Born like this
Into this
As the chalk faces smile
As Mrs. Death laughs
As the elevators break
As political landscapes dissolve
As the supermarket bag boy holds a college degree
As the oily fish spit out their oily prey
As the sun is masked
We are
Born like this
Into this
Into these carefully mad wars
Into the sight of broken factory windows of emptiness
Into bars where people no longer speak to each other
Into fist fights that end as shootings and knifings
Born into this
Into hospitals which are so expensive that it’s cheaper to die
Into lawyers who charge so much it’s cheaper to plead guilty
Into a country where the jails are full and the madhouses closed
Into a place where the masses elevate fools into rich heroes
Born into this
Walking and living through this
Dying because of this
Muted because of this
Castrated
Debauched
Disinherited
Because of this
Fooled by this
Used by this
Pissed on by this
Made crazy and sick by this
Made violent
Made inhuman
By this
The heart is blackened
The fingers reach for the throat
The gun
The knife
The bomb
The fingers reach toward an unresponsive god
The fingers reach for the bottle
The pill
The powder
We are born into this sorrowful deadliness
We are born into a government 60 years in debt
That soon will be unable to even pay the interest on that debt
And the banks will burn
Money will be useless
There will be open and unpunished murder in the streets
It will be guns and roving mobs
Land will be useless
Food will become a diminishing return
Nuclear power will be taken over by the many
Explosions will continually shake the earth
Radiated robot men will stalk each other
The rich and the chosen will watch from space platforms
Dante’s Inferno will be made to look like a children’s playground
The sun will not be seen and it will always be night
Trees will die
All vegetation will die
Radiated men will eat the flesh of radiated men
The sea will be poisoned
The lakes and rivers will vanish
Rain will be the new gold
The rotting bodies of men and animals will stink in the dark wind
The last few survivors will be overtaken by new and hideous diseases
And the space platforms will be destroyed by attrition
The petering out of supplies
The natural effect of general decay
And there will be the most beautiful silence never heard
Born out of that.
The sun still hidden there
Awaiting the next chapter.

I was at the supermarket today and was already in a bad mood. You know what really aggravates me in stores? How they play loud music. If I'm organised I wear my earphones and listen to my own music, but I'm not the most organised person. I don't know why they do that, unless I'm that different to other people and they find it relaxing. I mean the whole point of creating a certain atmosphere in shops is obviously to encourage people to stay in there and spend money. It has the opposite effect on me.. Quite often I find myself thinking "I have to get out of here ASAP" and I can't even concentrate on what I'm doing. I've heard that some supermarkets have a special hour when they turn the lights and music down, and I think it's for parents with children on the autism spectrum. Pretty sure I'm not on the spectrum because most of the symptoms are actually the opposite to my characteristics. But the noise/light thing is very similar.

I don't, but I don't trust the government(s) either. I don't look at or read much news because it does my head in. I think people need to be careful of jumping the gun though and learn to live differently, virus or no virus. Most people are incapable of staying home and reading a book these days. So, lil gypsy is working as a checkout girl? She isn't so little any more. :)

I hope she's taking all the overtime she can get. Those P!nk tickets cost a bomb. ;)

Life here is starting to move forward. Lockdown was recently eased. We still can't visit family and friends, but there are no limits on going outdoors now, as long as you socially distance. Lots of shops are still closed, at least until they can find out how to open safely.

Everybody has become quite lethargic after having several weeks of nothing. Even my cat just sits and watches TV nowadays. Heeeeeee.

How are you getting on with you fancy new phone?

Make sure you don't roll on it when you're listening to music. I've done that a few times. Nearly broke the thing.

Well I’ve gone from an iPhone 5s to an iPhone XR.. In my day (*waves walking stick*) five years between updating technology wasn’t unusual. Apple have already released the iPhone 12 and god knows what since the XR! But the beauty of Apple products is the user-friendliness, so I’m getting on pretty well with it and haven’t had any serious fits of anger. I even updated to the latest iOS the other day without any drama.

Yeah, I still need to get a screen protector for it. I’ve fallen asleep and woken up lying on the phone.. Never done much damage at all to them or the iPad though. The worst story I’ve heard was from a guy who had his iPad in his kid’s pram. He folded the pram up and *crunch*. Oh and LOL, one time Little Gypsy threw her phone across the room.. It was fine but it landed on her father’s iPad and smashed the screen. She was in the biggest panic and said she’d seen a huntsman spider and freaked out lol. She’d actually just had a fit of rage. Yes, us Gypsies have anger management problems heeeeee.

The Humbling River — Puscifer

https://youtu.be/GgwK9sHTu-8

Nature, nurture heaven and home
Sum of all, and by them, driven
To conquer every mountain shown
But I've never crossed the river

Braved the forests, braved the stone
Braved the icy winds and fire
Braved and beat them on my own
Yet I'm helpless by the river

Angel, angel, what have I done?
I've faced the quakes, the wind, the fire
I've conquered country, crown, and throne
Why can't I cross this river?

Pay no mind to the battles you've won
It'll take a lot more than rage and muscle
Open your heart and hands, my son
Or you'll never make it over the river

It'll take a lot more than words and guns
A whole lot more than riches and muscle
The hands of the many must join as one
And together we'll cross the river

Nature, nurture heaven and home
It'll take a lot more than words and guns
Sum of all, and by them, driven
A whole lot more than riches and muscle
To conquer every mountain shown
The hands of the many must join as one
And together we'll cross the river

Braved the forests, braved the stone
It'll take a lot more than words and guns
Braved the icy winds and fire
A whole lot more than riches and muscle
Braved and beat them on my own

The hands of the many must join as one
And together we'll cross the river
And together we'll cross the river
And together we'll cross the river

Is it your main web browsing gadget now?

I did a similar thing to lil gypsy years ago. A moth flew in my face while I was on my ipad. I instinctively reached out to bat it away, but as I did, the ipad slipped out of my hand and flew across the room. The screen smashed, but I still managed to use it for about a year more.

It sure is. Though I still use the old phone when I'm super lazy - mainly when I wake up and haven't even emerged from under the covers haha, because it's easy to use with one hand.

LOL@moth. My grandma had a phobia of moths. She lived in the UK all her life. I don't think I showed you guys the visitor I had on my balcony recently (that upright post is 9cm wide).

I don't know why it's sideways. Anyway this CD has one of the greatest songs of all-time on it. I remember dancing to this when I was about 5yo. I googled the lyrics earlier (German/Jamaican/Africans singing about Russians).

Thanks to comments on YouTube: German disco band formed by black people born in the Caribbean, singing about a Russian priest in a song inspired by a Turkish folk song.

The clip is even greater!!

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey

There lived a certain man in Russia long ago
He was big and strong, in his eyes a flaming glow
Most people looked at him with terror and with fear
But to Moscow chicks he was such a lovely dear

He could preach the Bible like a preacher
Full of ecstasy and fire
But he also was the kind of teacher
Women would desire

Ra ra Rasputin
Lover of the Russian queen
There was a cat that really was gone
Ra ra Rasputin
Russia's greatest love machine
It was a shame how he carried on

He ruled the Russian land and never mind the Czar
But the kazachok he danced really wunderbar
In all affairs of state he was the man to please
But he was real great when he had a girl to squeeze

For the queen he was no wheeler dealer
Though she'd heard the things he'd done
She believed he was a holy healer
Who would heal her son

Ra ra Rasputin
Lover of the Russian queen
There was a cat that really was gone
Ra ra Rasputin
Russia's greatest love machine
It was a shame how he carried on

But when his drinking and lusting
And his hunger for power
Became known to more and more people
The demands to do something
About this outrageous man
Became louder and louder

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey

"This man's just got to go", declared his enemies
But the ladies begged, "don't you try to do it, please"
No doubt this Rasputin had lots of hidden charms
Though he was a brute, they just fell into his arms

Then one night some men of higher standing
Set a trap, they're not to blame
"Come to visit us", they kept demanding
And he really came

Ra ra Rasputin
Lover of the Russian queen
They put some poison into his wine
Ra ra Rasputin
Russia's greatest love machine
He drank it all and said, "I feel fine"

Ra ra Rasputin
Lover of the Russian queen
They didn't quit, they wanted his head
Ra ra Rasputin
Russia's greatest love machine
And so they shot him 'til he was dead
Oh, those Russians

LOL. What kind of spiders do you have? My daughter is even worse than me. One time I had to rescue her from the shower because I heard her screaming.. I went in there and a Daddy Longlegs had appeared. Daddy Longlegs are actually the enemy of Huntsmans, so they're my friends. As a kid I remember my dad catching Huntsmans with his hands and taking them outside. They'd bite him and he'd say "oh it's just like a bee sting". They aren't venomous but bee stings are pretty painful, not to mention having those things in your hand. That was impressive for a Pom who only came out here when he was about 30.

Damn, your dad is quite tough. Still, after living with your mum, I'm sure everything is tame after that. ;)

Sometimes I try to take them outside with the glass and cardboard, but if they scare me in the night, I do splatter them out of instinct. Next time I will call Dahila to deal with the spider. ;)

He does the glass and cardboard now too. I guess he's a bit too old to be catching the spider with his hands. Still, no way could I do glass and cardboard with a huntsman.. Not only are they big, they're fast. One wrong move and that thing could run up your sleeve, at which point I'd have some kind of seizure.

Mum.. *blank stare*.

Monkey bikes. Someone keeps using a vehicle around here that backfires all the time, coughs and splutters, and generally sounds like it's about to die. I can hear it right now. I'm wondering if it's one of these things they call monkey bikes. I don't think they're legal.

Ok so Monkey Bike just means a type of Honda motorbike, not a cheap piece of crap that teenagers get around on illegally. Whatever this thing is though, it makes a lot of noise. We all know how much I love noise pollution.

My friend (who can't get a drivers licence because of his epilepsy, so rides a push bike everywhere and knows about this stuff) said it's probably a push bike with a lawn mower engine lol. The things people do..

-------

You are either completely in love with the Honda Z series or you have no idea what it is. For those in the latter category, here’s a quick intro (which will then be followed by a longer story about the origins of the bike). The Honda Z50 was a street-legal mini-bike whose popularity was a huge surprise to almost everyone. It had a 49cc engine, five-inch wheels, and the first US imports in 1968 looked like Honda was trying to bring Oompa Loompas to the Hell’s Angels. Or at least the beach branch.

It was also called the Honda Monkey, both affectionately and derogatorily. The name stems from what the rider looks like when seated on the bike. Arms and legs stick out at weird, sharp angles and, depending on the rider’s size, backs can hunch over almost as drastically, making the rider look like a circus monkey. Right about now, you should be thinking of the bike in Dumb and Dumber (https://www.maxim.com/entertainment/original-mini-bike-dumb-dumber-2018-2). While it’s not the right model bike, it’s almost the same riding posture.
Even if you’re a bike purist, you have to admit you see the attraction. As soon as you interact with a Monkey, you’re in a better mood. It’s a miniature, fuel-efficient machine designed entirely with fun in mind, and that’s a machine that only the blackest hearts among us can be upset with.

I've been cleaning, tidying and organising my house. Organising includes de-cluttering -- I have too much stuff for the size of the place and I can't stand clutter. It's not easy getting rid of things though and of course money is a factor. A few things I own are just ridiculously big. I've started really hating these things, namely the vacuum cleaner and microwave oven. I was just doing dishes and looking at the microwave and its size, thinking how f'ing stupid it is and how much space it takes up. I want one that can go on top of the fridge but my budget is really tight for the next couple of weeks at least. So I moved the damn thing to somewhere I can still use it but it isn't in my face and taking up precious kitchen bench space.

Also, just putting this here. Sometimes I hear something I really like while I'm doing other stuff.

Clothes are my biggest nightmare in this. I spend half my life looking for things.. Just then I had to search for a pair of jeans and I'm thinking "it's a pair of jeans, not car keys, how does a pair of jeans just disappear?!" I found them but now when I have to get ready I'm already aggravated. I don't think I ever learnt how to organise clothes and I'm like a 15yo. I just take things off, throw them in a basket (I have baskets everywhere because it makes me feel organised but I'm not), then the next day I want to wear something completely different. So yes, clothes are gradually going in the bin.

How is your doctor situation? Have they eased restrictions there? They have here, but my doctor isn't seeing patients yet. I don't actually want him to because the telehealth system is so much easier hehe.

Good! Last year I got really fed up with the healthcare system -- my Psych retired in 2018, then my GP went on long service leave in 2019, and generally they're privatising more and more services here. I was so annoyed I decided I could go without doctors altogether. I managed about 6 months but it was harder than I thought. Then with Covid my health anxiety got really bad (not over the virus itself, just feeling like I couldn't get help for other things if I needed it). I feel a lot better since being in touch with my old GP.. No new Psychiatrist because they're too expensive and even Psychologists are getting hard to see, but I think I can do without. But yeah, as awful as doctors are, they're better than nothing.

Self.. I have Suff cat ;) Photos are another thing I need to organise. My collection now stands at around 1300 (that's with me deleting stuff as I go) in no particular order.

Also, do you know doctors know next to nothing about perimenopause? Including gynacologists and endocrinologists. Not because they're stupid but because THE RESEARCH HASN'T BEEN DONE. I've seen both types of specialists and two GPs about this and they all say the same thing -- you're menopausal when you haven't had a period in a year or more. So apparently women go from fertile to menopausal overnight. Try about 5 years (?) in my case and still going. Yep, it's awesome being a woman over 40.

Yes.. That and we have our own issues with racism towards blacks (Aboriginals). My friend sent me a good article this morning about all this. I actually got hooked on Twitter over summer when the bushfires were happening. Once that died down I got into some of the political issues and my god, it was batshit crazy. One night I had to log off because one of the muscles near my eye was twitching LOL. Like that character from South Park. Sometimes I'm really grateful for the time I've spent on this planet without any internet (around 25 years). Anyway I ditched Twitter not long after that. Facebook I'm only on for Messenger. Social media is the pits. I often leave it hating all mankind and wishing for an asteroid to hit the earth.

I have been using it a bit more recently, though, much to my regret. I've been reading about the riots, obvs, but also following JK Rowling. She had to get lawyers involved cos someone said she was a danger to children, all because of her beliefs on female biology. That woman is getting stalked like crazy now just for expressing a different opinion. I mean, what's messed up is she never said we shouldn't show all people respect and love -- she just has a slightly different classification model regarding what constitutes a woman.

Morons need to be prevented from congregating, not given entire platforms to bully people on.

EXACTLY! My message is already getting across. At this rate, we might not even need to riot, which would be a pain cos I wanted to loot myself a nice new laptop while protesting for Ponder's wellbeing.

Funny you should say that cos it was exactly that issue which made my eye twitch. I'm well and truly on JK Rowling's side. Within a few days of getting involved I'd been called everything from a TERF to a misogynist (a few other things). Misogynist was my favourite though.. I went out that night and screwed some hot sluts dude.

Yes I am discussing this issue because it's my thread and I do whatever I want, all the time ;) But seriously, those freaks aren't even part of the real transgender community. I don't know what they are exactly.. Kind of like the Westboro mob who protest and their core belief is hate. Same as the KKK boil down to.

I just remembered -- I was friends with/following/whatever this person on Twitter who was transgender and had had the surgery, who had been called transphobic by these people. That was maybe even funnier than them calling me a misogynist. The reason was the person was ok with saying "I was born a biological male but now I'm a trans woman." Where I come from that's not called transphobic, it's called telling the truth.

Another telephone appointment with my doctor this afternoon. My whole hormonal system is in turmoil lol. As I say, there hasn't even been enough research done on the stage I'm at for the medical profession to work this out.

Symptoms:

--Irregular periods
--Anxiety from hell
--Sleep disruption
--Hot sweaty feeling (but body temperature normal)
--Heart palpitations
--Painful thinning skin on hands

All of those could be anything. But if there's one thing I know it's pain from my womb! I had it every month for about 35 years and given birth. It's unmistakeable and I kind of like it because at least I know what it is. And good luck to the hyper trans activists replicating that knowledge ;)

I got a couple of remedies which are a bit stronger, courtesy of the pharmaceutical industry. I will remember those though. This is something that needs the equivalent of midwives for women going through pregnancy/labour/delivery. When I had my daughter in 2001 I went through the entire thing using the public system and it was brilliant. I had a room to myself with a double bed and an ensuite with a spa, and stayed for about 5 nights. I had an anaesthetist (I ended up induced with an epidural) who was so good I forget to include labour when I talk about bad pain I've been in lol. It cost me nothing, from conception to when she was old enough to not need much help from the system. I don't know how good the public system is now but at least they do their best for those women.

When it comes to women going through "The Change" you better have money or you're on your own. Some women don't have any trouble but it's been nightmarish for me. I try not to be cynical about it but it's as if you become irrelevant to society once you get to this age. I think more women are starting to speak about it because I've found some good blogs and stuff online but mainstream medicine almost ignores it.

Anyway I could go on about that all night.. Yep, our PM is good for making us laugh while the country burns and that's about it!

Ok, something that has always bothered me is people who take their bad moods out even on complete strangers. Everyone can be forgiven for being in a bad mood (especially with the state of the world at the moment). But there are people who can't even control their temper enough they're rude to say, the person serving them at the supermarket check-out. My daughter is one of them and when people were panic buying at the start of the virus she was in tears more than once because of rude customers. I thought, I've been in hospital Emergency wards in severe pain and not treated the staff badly.

People need to give more thought to how their behaviour impacts others. Some people have thick skin and can deal with it. Some people don't even notice or they come from a culture where aggression and anger is more socially acceptable. If in doubt, err on the side of caution and be polite. If I'm having a bad day even a smile from a stranger can make a difference. Just don't be a rude asshole to people you don't know!

I read Jordan Peterson's book last year and recommend it to anyone. I don't agree with him on all his political viewpoints, but as a Psychologist I think he's phenomenal. He's controversial because he's a maverick and people like ideologies. JP is truly neither right nor left-wing. He's an independent thinker with a brilliant mind. Anyway one of the things he said that stuck with me is just don't add to the suffering in the world. We can't all help other people every day when we're struggling to just get through the day ourselves, but I think it's always possible to not make anyone else's day worse.

PS Prince was born in Minneapolis and died in Minnesota as well. I started on a "Prince trip" the week George Floyd was murdered (about Monday?) then after I read about the riots I heard him mention Minnesota in an obscure song I'd never heard. You get abused for not wearing a mask?? Whatever your reason for not wearing a mask (I don't and neither do most Aussies) people could just stay away from you. In fact, being close enough to abuse you is pretty stupid if they're worried about the virus. Or do they use a megaphone? LOL. My pharmacist friend in London says unless you get the right kind of mask (and a lot aren't) and wear it the right way, you're wasting your time or even increasing your risk.

No I don't know about your woman with a penis haha. I avoid that whole issue because it's a raw nerve. I spoke with my doctor yesterday about my perimenopause in detail.. You can see in my post above my symptoms that have been going on for about five years now. Today I started a diary recording stuff because one of the worst things is having all these symptoms but nothing to show for it! I worked out I've had 3 periods in over a year. I've had an ultrasound (including "internal") and seen a gynocologist. I even got information from the hospital because I had my tubes tied in 2011 and while they're at it they take a biopsy of your uterus to check for things like endometriosis. NOTHING. Nothing obvious anyway. The doc said you can get cysts though which actually rupture and by the time they do a scan the thing is gone. They aren't dangerous but I've been in so much pain I felt like something was going to explode in there. He said "it probably did".

So I feel like transgender people have suddenly got all these rights while women have been overlooked. Are we not exciting enough for PC-Nazis/SJWs or something? Well I'm sorry but when I was born female, had periods for 30 years, had a child and I'm still suffering, I think I have the right to proper medical treatment before transgender people. Not to mention the fact that 50% of the population are like me and 0.00001% or whatever are truly transgender.

And don't even get me started on the laws/language thing in Canada. I absolutely love this clip of Jordan Peterson (Self, you'll like this too):

Awfull, people are cruel and rotten to the bone . I think we should all be dead, Nothing positive in humanity
except music, literature and art

And comedy :) I'm actually reading a book related to this and how horrible our culture is for creative people. It pretty much places no value whatsoever on the imagination, symbolism, mythology, etc. We have a combination of consumerism and Christianity (which has always been so warped it's more a way to control people than a religion). It's horrible for everyone in fact, but some are able to conform to it better than others. A lot aren't even aware of how awful it is.

Goethe said, "None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free." Well I've felt like I'm under house arrest for the last couple of years compared to how I felt and lived in the 90s. At least I'm aware of it though. Australia has gone from the Lucky Country to a fossil-fuelled police state. We're owned by mining magnates like Gina Rinehart, the media is controlled by Rupert Murdoch, and the politicians are in the back pockets of both those.

Actually, George Carlin said this better than I can and he said it in the 80s/90s:

https://youtu.be/-14SllPPLxY

I've gone off on a tangent there because it drives me crazy.. But some people are less evolved than others (that's a nice way of putting it hehe. Also if you're "left brained" you can fit in easier. Creative people are "right brained". Those aren't literal hemispheres, they're ways of thinking and everyone uses both. But how many people who are good at art/music/poetry/writing can make a living out of it compared to people who are good at things involving numbers or building stuff or organising things? A lot of people (like me) aren't even told they're good at creative things and they end up in education and/or work which is completely wrong for them. The culture just doesn't prioritise creativity at all (because it can't have a dollar sign put on it as easily).

It's a really sick society. To me it's so ugly and boring I can barely stand it. Last night I spent a few hours just listening to my favourite pieces of classical music. That helps my soul (and is proven to increase dopamine). Mum knows a lot about classical and recommended Faure. I like watching the orchestras too:

Yessica is aggressive and vile. Yuk!

Poor JK Rowling is getting abused on Twitter right now for saying she believes in biological sex. Avoid that conversation. The replies will just make your brain hurt.

Lots of people are burning her books (cos of course book burning is always a sign you're on the enlightened side).

I went on Twitter earlier. I just wanted to do a few posts then I left. That's my MO on social media now -- I post but don't interact. YouTube is the only thing I look at comments on and reply. It isn't bad like FB and Twitter. I don't think people like the TRA have done anything much other than sit on the computer on social media their whole lives. Have you seen the lesbians with dicks (as in biological men who call themselves lesbians? That shit has to be some kink rather than sexual/gender identity. It makes me sick AND anxious.

I've worked out a bit of a system using the net so I'm not hiding under a rock like the last couple of years but it does my head in as little as possible.

--Just post on social media but don't engage with it much.. YouTube is the only one I don't mind reading comments on, in fact they can be really good (I stick to music and comedy because way less insanity).
--Read the news and only look at headlines and read a few articles.
--Email with a couple of good friends.
--Check Messenger mainly for my daughter and a couple of friends.
--Post here and talk to you guys :)

When it all gets too much I get offline altogether and do housework, read a book or switch to "music mode" and try not to even use my left brain at all. Classical is good for that but I'm still learning because I only started exploring it last year. One of my FB friends in America is a guitarist who teaches and has an education in music, including classical. So I asked him his favourite pieces. I knew some but he put me onto Bach. This piece..

https://youtu.be/ezZdbzreNcs

I also get on the exercise bike at least once a day.. Only for a short time but that thing is high intensity, which seems to suit me. Walking is really good but I hate where I live and it's really cold. I want to start driving to nice places and walking there eg. beaches.

I found that just sitting on the balcony (in the cold) helps. There's this guy I discovered last year via Russell Brand's channel called Wim Hoff, the Ice Shaman lol. He's Dutch and his wife committed suicide so he went into a bad depression. I've started turning the hot water down at the end of my showers (no way can I just get under a cold shower!) Here's the video that put me onto him. I like Russell Brand a lot because he had the same problems as me.

That's pretty long and detailed. Here's the one about the Ice Shaman's depression and how he started:

With science and rationalism as the order of the day, people have no idea how powerful they are. Cause and effect is real, science is real and it's very good at what it does. It's not the full picture though. I will try and explain this later.

This is why perception management is rated so highly by those controlling the masses. Despite that, the first place to start is with ourselves and disidentifying with those issues that spawn negitive projections from our own being. That being an extremely hard task whilst we live the lives of limited beings/aka matetial beings.

The hardest part is getting your head around this. But just look at these pictures for a while and what the things actually are (they are scientific pics).

From the get-go we are taught that the universe is like a big ball that goes outward in a straight line basically. It apparently came out of nowhere one day. If you're at all philosophical you would have thought about that and asked "Well ok.. Where did it come from? Where does it end? What was there before it?" etc etc. This used to give me the worst anxiety and do my head in.

Scientists have all sorts of answers to those questions. I don't understand those answers and I doubt many people do. So you're left wondering about it. That wasn't good enough for me to stop thinking about it and being anxious. What stopped me being anxious was Carl Jung, and Freud who taught him, and their understanding of the mind ("psyche" is a better word).

Human beings don't just have conscious, rational minds. The big problem with science (and our culture) is it puts ALL value on that part of the mind. This only happened relatively recently and only in Western culture. Like I said, science is "true" and it's fantastic at what it does. Give me science over religion any day. Scientific findings have been converging for a long time anyway, but mainstream culture lags and most people are stuck 100+ years ago. Partly because scientists can't explain things simply but also because it benefits the powers-that-be. As if the church, the government, the corporations want ordinary people having any power.

You think I'm going to come out with some New Age thing now lol. Like "I woke up after years of depression and anxiety and everything looked different, it was beautiful!" Nope, I've been at this since my early-20s and still going. I'm not enlightened by any stretch of the imagination. I don't even meditate because my mind doesn't stfu, ever.

I understand this though -- the rational mind we use everyday (by we I mean average Westerners not Zen masters) cannot understand the nature of the universe. Just stop trying. It's like an insect trying to understand calculus. The deeper levels of the mind can, but the vast majority of us only tap into that when we're unconscious ie. asleep. Dreams are part of this whole thing but beyond the scope of what I'm trying to say here.

Ok so look at this picture. Consider the possibility that the idea of the universe being a big ball that goes out and out and out is not quite accurate. Think about a spiral instead, or better yet, fractals (if you know about those). Try and imagine that the human mind is like a little version of the universe. That's the key and the hard part. Again, don't think too hard about it because you'll just get a headache or an anxiety attack. Just be open to the possibility that what science has told you is good but not that helpful for most people in this day and age in Western societies.

Synchronicity is based on this "spiral" version not the "ball" version. It isn't cause and effect. But things can happen which rationally have no link, at least no causal link, yet they aren't just random, meaningless occurrences. Why not? Because the spiral is doing stuff we can't rationally understand.

If the human mind is a little version of the universe, it's also a little version of the Earth. Bodies are 70% water, so is the Earth. We breathe and trees/forests "breathe". So that's another thing to suspend disbelief about -- that we are connected to the Earth but not in a causal way. The spiral is just spiralling out from the mind to the planet (the planet is not a dead lump of rock just somehow floating in a big ball of nothingness with other lumps of rock, which just appeared one day out of nothing lol). Seems plausible? Seems more plausible to me than the floating rock idea! Don't worry about your mind asking questions like "well where am I on the spiral?" or "which bit of the fractal am I?" My brain still does that and I have to ignore it. It's irrelevant but the "Monkey Mind" likes to think it's smarter than it is (especially when you're an anxious type).

Now, to work with synchronicity is about feeling powerful. That's the best way I can put it, but I certainly don't mean power as in being the President or having a lot of money. I mean a combination of powerful/passionate/inspired. How you feel when you're doing something and you're just "in the moment" (I'm not going to say anything about mindfulness here either). The best way to explain it is what I use, which is music, words and images. I use music a lot. But it's whatever "does it" for you.. Whatever makes you feel alive and passionate (happy is not a great word because pain can be powerful too, but that's hard).

One of the best "techniques" or "exercises" I ever heard for doing this stuff came from Alan Watts I think. He said something along the lines of getting in that zone I'm talking about and then "imagine you are the whole universe doing that". A lot of people's reaction to this is just "that's stupid I can't do that!" Again, that's Monkey Mind and it needs to shut up.

People also think they can use this to get what they want eg. Money, a certain person, a particular job. It doesn't work like that. The universe doesn't think like we do and it'll give you what you need not what you want (as an average person not an Amazonian Shaman, who wouldn't care about those things anyway). It does like things like truth, courage, beauty (that's a good one to use because the world is sooo ugly atm), compassion. I won't say love because it's so overused it's lost its meaning. Oh and laughter.. It loves laughter!

But what you can do is not sit there feeling completely powerless and hopeless. Don't beat yourself up if you do though.. I spent the summer in a state of panic and despair about the fires. It's only now in the dead of winter I can centre myself enough to get in this zone and talk about it.

I've got heaps more pictures, tons of videos, poems, quotes, etc on this. That pic is my favourite for trying to explain the basic idea to people though. So Exercise #1 (lol) is get something you find beautiful and imagine you are the whole Earth feeling the way it makes you feel.

Ok that's enough for now I think!!

Re meditation.. I have so much trouble slowing my mind/thoughts down I've found that psytrance (a type of electronic music, nothing to do with "binaural beats" or whatever) is more relaxing than the usual meditation music. This one is good because it has visuals I like as well. But the thing with all of this is it's so important to find what works for you and what suits your individual nature. That's harder at first than being told what to do, but well worth the effort and gets easier. So if this makes you feel crappy, just stop it!

If it makes you feel good you could do the "I am the whole planet/universe" imagination thing using it :D

Just remember; our mind is like young monkey jumping all over. You do realize it and go back to the moment, Sometimes is good just to stand beside it and watch what our mind is doing. It gives you good idea what needs some work , or what issue is bothering your the most :) I used the lock down to retrain my body to relax as soon as I start following my breath. October 2021.

222.155.56.18 was used on Wikipedia.

If he was in New Zealand, they're going to know from his travel history. That's all logged as well.

Lots of people still play Xbox games in their 30s. I know you said James playing Xbox games at his age is sad, but so many of these franchises are renowned for their innovation.

Nowadays, games are kind of like interactive movies. But they're great to play. This is why I look forward to seeing the next entry in my favourite series, even if some of the ideas are not as good. You know?

I wish they would make interesting co-op games. Now everything is a genetic shooting experience. You don't do much of anything besides mowing down aliens or zombies. If they had the right balance, they could do so well.

Uh ok. Well how about you and James go play some Xbox together and I'll be at one of the forums that doesn't waste my time and energy.

I don't advertise my extra work in movies now, due to James. But yeah. Have you ever been in any films? :)

I can still be in movies, uncredited.

But Jimmy won't know. Ha-ha.

Not with your telephone-book sized Disclosure report you can't Peter.
Except for maybe true-life crime shows.

There's a distinct lack of Africa in that report. 0/10 ancestry. Would not breed with. ;)

I don't want African babies!! I already bred with a Dutchman. I just want African dick :D

Despite my Edinburgh heritage, I don't really like the Scottish slang.

Ken = know.
Noo = now.
Dinnae ken= do not know.
Waw= wall.
Baw = ball.
Wisnae = wasn't.

It grates on my nerves.

yes it can sound awful but you really need to see it used in context to get the full nails-down-a-chalkboard effect (indulgent to cite myself, I know):

A typical thesaunderschild video upload transcript goes something like this:

[ring ring]
"Police Scotland, Elaine speaking"
"oh hai it's uh peetur andersun heer and i stay at two dash six greendykes hoose which is foorteen greendykes rood edinburgh eee haich sixteeeen foor jai jai"
"Hi Peter, what's your number there?"
"I doon't ken mum. have ye nae got that caller eyedee or that"
"Is it oh seven seven four three seven seven five five nine one?"
"aye that soonds aboot reet"
"How can we help you today, Peter"
"i'd like you to send the pigs roond to arrest my lawyer for stealing my edivence..." [or some equally batshit mental stupid thing]
"You what?"
[continues for another 15 excruciating minutes]

Games are like movies now.

They are. I bought a Nintendo Switch then sold it on Gumtree cos it was all too complicated. This new fangled technology. I remember when colour TV came out.. Then VHS!!

But obviously James “I’m Not” Berich craves the good old days because this crappy forum is more exciting than Xbox. Human interaction is still a bit overwhelming though, so he likes the fact there’s only three other people active.
