Does your anxiety cause serious physical symptoms?

I've noticed that as my anxiety gets worse during certain periods, so does my physical health. I used to think I would catch the stomach bug or something, but I'm noticing a pattern now. Whenever I have to endure prolonged periods of anxiety, I get really nauseated, vomit on rare occasions, but most commonly have really bad bowel movements (use your imagination).

Could this be anxiety induced? Is it even possible for a mental state to cause such big physical changes and symptoms?

There's a stickied list of symptoms at the top of this section of the forum. My anxiety gave me 24/7 pains and aches all over my body. i can't name a single place which hasn't had an ache, pain or sensation afflicted by anxiety and my fight or flight response going haywire.

Anything is possible with anxiety, take it from me. But so is overcoming chronic pains caused by anxiety. I'm having 80% less pains these days so it is possible to overcome things.

How strong, how costly, the urge to fight our fate and turn back time. But life is meant to be consumed, not preserved to ward off doom. One can surely die from fear, before the end is ever near.
