Hi Littlebobo - Yeah, I've heard of propranolol. It's a beta-blocker which blocks epinepherine. Epinepherine is a natural chemical in our body that is released during stress. It makes our heart beat fast, increases breathing rate and many other responses associated with the "fight or flight" response. Propranolol stops large amounts of epinephrine from being released, thus helps keep the heart from racing.
It's prescribed for different ailments and for anxiety.
A racing, pounding heart can give a person chest pain.

    Hope that helps, soshy
