View Full Version : is there hope ill ever find me again
hi all im 41 and ive suffered anxiety for 7 years now.as i guess most of you will know i have good days and bad days and good weeks and bad weeks.the worry and fear im going to die or have a heart attack or a stroke constantly run through my mind but im always wondering does everyone get the same symptons.my nerves are so battered im now getting twitching in my lips eyes and fingers.my neck hurts and my head feels crushed with pressure i feel a tense sensation all through me like im straining and my constant monitoring how im feeling is exhausting,i used to be such a bubbly person but this terrible condition has stripped me of my life so much i dont know who or what i am anymore.any advice would be great because i will one day beat this horrible thing but we all need support,no one understands and friends laugh at me but inside it hurts.if anyone can understand this please talk to me thanks.

I hear you. Thus far are you alone against this? Have you seen a Doc or counselor for treatment? Trust me you can chase your tail for ever trying to beat it alone. On any meds, etc? Alankay.

All my doctor does is prescribe me anti depression tablets but I won't take them.I once took citalopram Amd I had a bad time it took me a year to come off them.I've asked about cognitive behavioural therapy but can't get funding in the uk.I feel unwell most days and it has taken over my life now?

If the ssri was that bad for you I'd ask about a course of a long acting benzo like prazepam, clorazepate of even valium just to get this under better control. As long as it's a long acting benzo(much safer). You might ask your doc about lyrica if you don't like a benzo as lyrica is approved for Generalized Anxiety Disorder(GAD, what it sound like to me) in Europe. I'd try/ask for prazepam for a while(2-3 weeks) then maybe move to lyrica and go from there. PM me any time. Alankay.
