This Q & A answers a question about the trouble with drinking grapefruit juice with medication. It has to do with the way this juice inhibits two enzymes which normally break-down the medications, thereby leaving more of the medication available to travel through the bloodstream, making the medication more 'potent' and possibly dangerous.
