I have been taking Celexa for 3 nights now. 5mg for the first 5 days, then I will be taking 10mg. I don't have a disorder but my psycharist told me that I am on the cusp of panic disorder because i am always thinking and saying to myself, "When will i get better", " this will never end", etc. I work myself up. I am also taking .5mg of Atvian twice a day along with the Celexa. I took Buspar for 4 weeks but it was making everything worse, so now i am on an anti-depprassant. How long until the pill "kicks in" and I am normal again. I am going through hell!!

Hi There,
As you posted this in August, I'm curious if you stuck with the Celexa and how it's working for you now? I took celexa for about a year and had success with it. I had to go off of it because of lack of health insurance and now I'm back on it. It's been about a week on 20mg and 10mg for a week before that. I definitely suffered from side effects, nausea and lack of appetite being the biggest. I haven't felt the full beneficial effects of it yet, that will take time. Seeing as you've been on it maybe 6-8 weeks, maybe you are feeling the benefits of it now? It usually takes about a month to kick in and really start feeling better. I'm looking forward to that time myself!
I hope you are doing better now. Take Care.

I liked it except it made not sleep so well. That did pass though and I went to lexapro via a Canadian Pharmacy(doctorsolve.com) and have good luck with lexapro. At 20mg now with no noticeable side effects. I would go back if needed since the sleep issue did clear up over time with celexa. It's as almost as old as prozac and a good ssri.
