Hi All,
I'm "S", 27 years old, single mom of amazing 9 year old. I had severe panic disorder with agorophobia about 8 years ago, which I overcame (yeah!) by different means... I learned about energy systems in the body, and how they can physically, mentally, and emotionally affect you. I learned to think positively, I learned to relax, and laugh.
About 2 months ago it all came back. Not as bad, but I almost feel worse due to feeling like I had built the skills and had the strength to never let anxiety take me over again.
I still believe positive thinking is the key, along with eating properly and exercising (although I usually feel like I'd choke if I ate anything and hate exercise - go figure!)
I guess I've come online to relate to others, to find ways to feel strong again; Ways to get back to being happy and not let this control my life.
Looking forward to hearing stories from all..

S.

Hi MsMama! I'm new here, too! I'm an "S", too, but you can call me Rose on here. :)

First, I'm sorry your anxiety has come back. It stinks to think you've succeeded in beating something (or to mostly beating it/or have learned to handle it well) only to have to take ten giant steps backwards. I find it disorienting and scary, as well as frustrating.

But you did it before, so I think you can do it again. Maybe you'll learn more techniques this time.

I'd love to hear what your processes have been in the past; I'm all for natural remedies (I say as i take my night time Cloneazepam!)

I've always been prone to depression and anxiety, but the anxiety stayed hidden under the depression until that was dealt with. So now I'm dealing with both, mainly anxiety attacks as opposed to panic attacks if you know what I mean.

Did you say your age? I think you did. I'm 34.

I'm about to crack the Anx & Phob Workbook soon; it's been on my shelf forever. I've also read about half of The Feeling Good Handbook. I have a psychiatrist and a PhD Psychologist who does CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I also have Ativan to take under my tongue if I have an attack. But I do agree with you, nutrition and exercise is very important, but being also depressed it's hard to get motivated. I'm taking baby steps!
