Hi all,

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I'm a 37 year old female who has suffered from some form of anxiety for most of her adult and teen life. Between worrying about my family, my life, and my job (this one is a huge source of anxiety for me), I am quite the jittery mess.

I often walk through life with that feeling in the pit of my stomach, like something just isnt right. And I'm always worrying about "what's next" and anticipate the worst. Especially where work is concerned.

I've gained a lot of weight in the past year or two because of my anxiety, and feel lousy a lot of the time from the weight gain. It's hard for me to take a new step in a different direction because I always fear it will blow up in my face and I'll fail.

So that's basically my story. I hope to meet people and find support here. Take care--LJ

I guess you need cbt to train you to think differently as this will help you with your fears as it will adjust the way you think so that you no longer fear failing, you just learn to look at it differently.

Mind you,
This cbt is like Jedi mind training and will take time, and you will need a Jedi master to guide you.

If Yoda is unavailable, you may get cbt from your health service.

As for gaining weight, i wouldn't worry too much, as weight is easily dropped (most of it) if you are able to regulate your diet (stop binge eating and drinking) and you are able to exercise 3 times a week for an hour.

As soon as you start your diet you will start dropping weight straight away.
Drink water. See books on GI diets for more info.

Hi there and thank you both for the replies. I hope that I will get to know people here and learn different ways to deal with life other than the usual worrisome ways I know.

I spent today at the beach, and nothing calms me more than a day at the beach. So, for the moment, I'm doing well. Take care and nice to meet you--LJ
