Medication After Effects !!

I just took an antidepressant for three days and felt so wretched the doctor told me to stop. It is now 5 days after stopping and my anxiety is way worse than before taking it. I suspect it tweaked something in my brain that has not calmed down yet....but it is really bad!!

Has anyone else had this destabilizing effect after taking any medication in low doses short term.

Hi James,

I definitely remember some VERY crazy and strange side effects from different medications they put me on for anxiety. However, most of the weird feelings tapered off a few days after I got off of them.

I'd seriously doubt the medication tweaked something in your brain, rather, I think the ill effects of being on the medication scared you and you're simply just feeling more anxious than before.

All I can say is that this is VERY common with anxiety sufferers when they try different medications, I certainly experienced it and there were no long-lasting ill effects.
