Hi,
i have been taking citalapram and propranolol for sometime now for depression and GAD - these were prescribed by my GP - was getting on ok with these but not great as my insomnia was still really bad and very dibilitating.
i saw my psychatrist for the first time this week and he has completely changed all my meds - he has now started me on venlafaxine (effexor) - 75 mg for 2 weeks and then moving to 150mg after that. for my insomnia he has precribed zopiclone - sleeping tablets bascially. is it common fo rpeople to have their meds changed so completely - he said that my GP had not prescribed th eright does or drugs for me
I haven't had any side effects - apart for a really bitter taste in my mouth and a bit of nausa.
has any one had experience of these 2 drugs together? (an still taking proranolol aswell). im worried about the addictive nature of these drugs and any withdrawal i may get when eventually comin goff them?
they do seem to be helping and i am finally getitng more sleep which is also making me feel better.
thanks
