Mental Health Cases Still Go Untreated

There is a new study out that shows that 33% of people in the United States with mental disorders go untreated.

Even though I have sought treatment for many years concerning my anxiety/depression disorders, I feel like I haven't been given treatment anyway.

Though I don't live in the US, I'm part of the percentage that isn't/wasn't/hasn't been treated. =D

Actually, I'd think it would be higher as well.

But worse that the 33% of identified cases that have no access to treatment, is the undoubtedly large percentage of unidentified cases (which are due to lack of information or just plain inexistence of mental health resources for a proper diagnosis and care).

Although the stigma against mental illness still exists, it's not quite what it used to be. Combine that with the fact that treatment is only getting better, more and more people are getting the help they need. So watch for the percentage of cases being untreated to decline.
