Well, by stopping the inner critic, you are able to have more fun in life. To feed the inner child, do things that are fun and enjoyable and not really things that adults are thought to do. Go play some video games; stay up all night and watch movies and eat popcorn; have fun with things like children do. Do your best to break outside the routine and monotony that adults experience.

Children are thought to be playful, imaginative, creative, and they seem to act without reservation, which is a big part of living a healthy and happy life. Try to take more actions in life that are consistent with that philosophy - this can look however you want.

What the book is getting at is that adults don't do many things that kids do because they are afraid, but that at the same time, in order to lead a healthy and happy life, we should do things that are purely done for the fun of it, and not to meet some end.

Good luck with this and be sure to ask questions should you have any!
