View Full Version : CBT in Los Angeles
Hey all,
I'm hoping someone can recommend a Cognitive Behavorial Therapist in the Los Angeles area.
Also, what are typical costs for CBT? I've found someone charging $250 per visit. Seems ridiculous, especially without health insurance :(

Sorry cant really help you on that front...but i will say that there are some great self help books on cbt and these are a great place to start.
This series of books is particularly good...i've been using the OCD one...

Also there are some good self help cbt sites

also try googling mood gym...thats a good site
I myself have been fortunate enough to visit a therapist and think that it helps to have someone guide you through some of the techniques...but these self help bits are a great start.
I cant stress enough the benefit that i've gotten from CBT...i know its expensive but bear in mind that CBT is a short term treatment...usually from 6-20 sessions, but you will get much benefit from seeing a therapist even if its just on a once a month basis...it really is the way forward for anxiety disorders.
Thanks EvilBob.......'Living Life to the Full' looks interesting! I think I've found some affordable CBT nearby. Really looking forward to starting therapy, finally:)
Thanks for the encouragement and recommendations.
Cheers!
