Hi,

My name is Bryan and I have recently been suffering with my anxiety and would appreciate some advice. I'm studying as a mature student and every time I go on the placements I have to do with my course I have problems. Everything goes OK at first but after about half way I start to blow minor mistakes totally out of proportion. The next thing I know I have lost all faith in my abilities and my performance plummets. This has caused me to have to leave my recent placement and I'll have to re-do it next year. Does anyone relate with this or could give me some advice????
Thanks Bryan

Hey, sorry to hear that your problems made you quit placement. What are you studying?
Although your anxiety made you beat yourself up over little mistakes, you have to remember that you're meant to make mistakes on placement. Thats how you learn :). I know how you feel though. If something does wrong on my placement I think about it for ages and convince myself that im not good enough. But then when something goes well, it reminds you that you shouldn't let your anxiety ruin everything that you've been working hard for and it puts it all into perspective.
Don't worry about making mistakes! Nobodys perfect :)
