This is my first time on any forum based websites but I stumbled by this by accident. I am really interested in abnormal psychology and probably read a little too much about it. And I know quite well how bad self-diagnosis is so... I will start by saying I don't actually know if I have legitimate anxiety. I have always been hyper-aware of what others think of me and when people are watching me, even if they aren't. I have also had the physical symptoms of a major anxiety attack twice in the past year but mostly because I was alone for too long or was overthinking again. So I might have anxiety or I might not, but this website at least will allow me to discuss the possibilities and recovery in an anonymous fashion. I hope I can clearly communicate to you all and have a blessed day!:D

Hi Mittens and welcome :)
For a first post you’re doing fine! I hope you find it helpful here. I don’t think it really matters if you have “legitimate anxiety” or not.

I sometimes feel like people are watching me when they aren't too. I DO have anxiety, and boy do I know it.

I guess what stands out from your post is likely social anxiety disorder and possible panic disorder. I'm not a doctor, don't plan to dress up as one for Halloween, but you may want to look into those two conditions and see if the symptoms sound familiar. You then have the option of visiting specialised forums, searching for related posts on this forum, reading books on the subjects, or talking to a professional about them.
What I always found weird about anxiety was how unique the symptoms felt to me, but how common they actually were amongst sufferers in general. It really does help reaching out. :)
