Lexapro Help

Hi,

I am starting my 3rd week on Lexapro 10 mg for GAD. This is my 3rd time on the med. Probably should have just stayed on it and never went off. I am noticing this time that my anxiety is through the roof in these first 3 weeks - something I didn't experience the last 2 times. Has anyone else had this situation? Wondering if I should stick it out or if the lex has pooped out!

Hi and welcome :)

Yes.. I'm surprised you didn't have the through-the-roof anxiety the other times. I always need benzos when I start SSRIs. Very basically, at first the brain thinks there's too much serotonin and compensates for it, so you actually end up with even less and the anxiety gets worse. I've had to wait 8 weeks for SSRIs to kick in, so hang in there.
