I knew i was anxious from an early age, but i thought everyone was also suffering from it. This was pat of life. In my family, everyone was suffering from anxiety. So, that is why i thought it was normal.

I lived with it all the time , but, in the last few weeks , it just got worse. Sources of anxiety piled up.

I liev in Canada, and i am always fearful when there is freezing rain that is coming up. For good reasons. I am 63, alwys had bad balance and take anti-coagulants. But, lately , i began panicking a week ahead of time, lost sleep over it , lost appetite. This was a very bad feeling. I thought i was going to die. Finally, it was not as bad as i had feared. ( Sometimes it is ) .

I don't get tht exposition thing that is supposed to decrease anxiety. Not in my case. There were also other sources of anxiety that added up.

I had to face facts. The level of anxiety i am facing isn't normal. My boss who studied clinical psychology said i am suffering from generelised anxiety disorder. I consulted my doctor. his first reaction was to tell me that i should not diagnose myself. After 15 minutes, he told me : Here is how we treat GAD. I almost laughed out loud.

I have begun taking medication. Soon, i will begin to do ( at least i hope ) therapy . I have been on medication for 4 days. The level of anxiety is bit down. But i can't sleep. My fear, if changing the time i take the medication to early morning doesn't work that i will be taken off this medication that already seems to help

And , i feel guilty for not realising sooner that i was suffering from GAD. I should have known. I work fr a company that sells psychological tests.
