Hello everyone, this will be my last attempt at reaching out for help. We are all on this site for the same reason so, i'm sure you know why i'm here. I, myself, suffer from extreme anxiety and depression. I feel as if my life is being wasted because of it. I am a 22 year old girl, and have never really had a job in my life because I find it difficult to be around people and talk. My social anxiety is even bad around family. I have 0 friends in real life, the only friends I've ever made were online. Everytime I go out to "make" friends and meet up, I make everything awkward and thus running people away from me... I feel like there is no hope left for me, and sometimes would think being dead would end this suffering of living day by day and not leaving the house for weeks...
In other words, I am glad to be here on this website to see everybodys storys and how to cope with anxiety. :-)

Hi Downed Angel
Welcome. I am sorry to read you are feeling so low. Like you I have only recently joined this forum. You will find good support here. I believe a lot of us go through feeling there is no hope which makes things even more scary. However there is always hope, but often finding the motivation to sustain it is really hard. It can be for me. You sound like a clever, articulate girl, and the smiley at the end is, for me something that shows a glimmer of hope. Hang in there. Have you read any of Dr Claire Weekes books? I have found her very helpful for anxiety

THERE IS LOTS OF HOPE FOR YOU! Things can change, I promise you that. I do wish there was someone you could talk to like a therapist or counselor. See if you can get some help about leaving the house more. You would be surprised at how much things change. And they can change for the better in ways you can't even imagine now.
