Hello

My rather unimaginative username is the name of my dog and the sound he occasionally makes when he wants something :)

I am in my early '40s and have been experiencing anxiety for 20+ years. I used to smoke a lot of weed and my first anxiety attack was whilst I was walking home- nearly fell over and did the last 200m of the journey on my hands and knees. Sounds daft thinking about it now.

Things haven't been quite that bad for a while; just simmering anxiety/ frequent catastrophic thinking etc. Recently however it's all come back.

I'm not as healthy as I could be, probably drink too much but have a full life. I work full time and have 5 small children and everything is constantly on the go.

I don't take any medication but my symptoms include:

Metallic taste in my mouth

Profound bloating. I'm not sure if this is worse with wheat/ my wife's cooking or what ;)- but I am concerned about what I eat and how it may trigger an episode

Dizziness. Acute bouts of feeling as though I am going to fall over.

Exhaustion. This may be the 5 kids :)

Anyway. I've kind of resigned myself to this being part of my personality and just sucking it up. I did want to try this forum just to get this 'out there' if that makes sense.

As a last roll of the dice I'm going to try something called symprove to see if that helps with the physical stomach symptoms.

Anyway, 'hi'. I'm sure I'll learn a lot from here. Thanks.

Hey Stanleywoof,

From http://www.vitamindwiki.com/Handout+on+Vitamin+D+%28Hormone+D%29+and+sleep+-+Gominak+2012 by
neurologist, Dr. S Gominak:

"If you have a neurologic problem that is severe enough to see a neurologist, you probably do not heal your body in sleep as perfectly as you once did. Most of us who have headaches, tremor, balance difficulties, vertigo, burning in the feet, depression, body pain, or memory loss have abnormal sleep and, surprisingly, fixing the sleep can fix the neurologic problem. From 2005-2009 I performed sleep studies on most of my patients and used medications or sleep masks to try to help their sleep. In 2009 I accidentally discovered that most of my patients had abnormal sleep because they were vitamin D deficient."

If you think this applies to you, read the article in full.

You could try an elimination diet for around a month, avoiding all wheat and gluten containing foods; check out https://www.google.com.au/search?client=opera&q=elimination+diets%3B+wheat+%2B+gluten&sourceid=opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 *

If eliminating wheat and gluten containing foods doesn't produce a significant improvement, there is:
