Well. Since Saturday my anxiety has been real high.
Eating me up. I've been unable to sleep and so forth.
Adrenalin pumping.
Then - on Thursday- I crashed.
Exhausted all day.
I thought 'thank god' - it's run its course and burned itself out.
But no - after getting 8 hours sleep on Thursday night - the anxiety was there waiting for me on Friday.
Now it's Friday evening.
How long is this adrenalin/ crash cycle gonna continue?
How am I gonna get out of this mess?
It's impacting my marriage big time.
I don't know if we're gonna make it through.

Hey
You poor thing, you sounds really worked up. Have you spoken to anyone about it? Like a doctor or therapist?

You need something to help you chill. Try lighting some scented candles and playing some relaxing music.

God. It's so good to get some sympathy and acknowledgement.
I really appreciate it.
Treestar - yeah. I spoke to a psychiatric doctor. He wasn't helpful. I actually felt he was being hostile.
Thanks KT. I think I'm way past candles and such.
More in need of a labotomy and Heroin :-)

I know what you mean about sensing hostility regarding a so called medical professional, I've experienced a lot of that.
As hard as it is, try not to afford the anxiety symptoms the attention it craves, I know how hard it is, I've had daily anxiety almost constantly for four years now.
Have you tried reading any books by Claire Weekes?
We are all sympathetic to you here, we understand and your among friends.
Please try and calm yourself down, take some time for yourself if you are able.

Hey Bill,
IMO you would be much better off consulting a clinical psychologist. Google: "clinical psychologists, (your location)" and have an initial session with at least 3, and select the one you feel most comfortable with. Psychiatrists are considerably less likely to be aware of appropriate techniques, or even if they are, they are often under much more time pressure, and haven't got the time to teach them, so tend to rely on the prescription of medications.
Give the Meridian Tapping Technique / EFT a good tryout, to see if it helps you. It is free via mercola.com or www.tapping.com (13 free videos), or www.eftuniverse.com or www.emofree.com or one of the many YouTube videos. Google: "YouTube; EFT videos".
Professionally instructed is generally preferable (Google: therapists; EFT; [your location] or mercola.com has a locator). - There is a version for use in public places at http://eft.mercola.com (if you like, you can claim to have a headache, as you employ the acupressure massage / tapping on your temples, but you would then be restricted to subvocalising: saying it to yourself in your mind: "Even though I have anxiety, I deeply and completely accept myself)." or words of your own choosing.
Also learn, and employ Progressive Muscle Relaxation, ( http://www.drcoxconsulting.com/managing-stress.html ) whichever you find most effective.

Hi Bill,
I've been there man. I don't know what your physical situation is like, but can you run? Even if you are terrible at running, it is the best way I know to beat some of that anxious energy out of your body. Even if you run for 5 minutes and collapse, it will help. Good luck.

Hi Bill,
What a horrible experience you are having. You are not alone on this mate and there is such great advice here. Running is sound advice indeed. It took a long time for that to work for me as I couldn't leave the house due to severe vertigo. I run a lot now though. You will most certainly find help here so keep posting on how you are feeling.
