Hello, I'm new to this forum and fairly new to anxiety treatment.
I have a troubling case of chronic depersonalization that is supported by a less severe case of GAD.
Through lots of online research, I've recently developed a strategy to alleviate the worst of the anxiety, which will in turn gradually relieve me of my DP symptoms. It appears to be working, however this self treatment could take months to show any long term improvement.
I am seeing a therapist tomorrow with the goal of being referred to a psychiatrist for medication.
Is medication the correct route here? And should I bring pages of info regarding my condition or will the therapist understand what I am experiencing ?
