Hey everyone,
New here, I've actually have been lurking on here for a couple of years now, and first off I Just want to say that going on here has helped me tremendously, especially at times when I was at my worst. It helped in a sense that it was comforting to know that I wasn't the only one dealing with all these anxiety related issues, the many different symptoms that it tends to manifest itself in.
It all started two years ago, I had a dramatic change in my life that turned out to be VERY stressful...and one night out of no where it hit me. I didn't know what was going on with me. I woke up in a panic. Shortness of breathe, my heart pounding out of my chest and me completely freaking out. I was about to go to the hospital but drank some water, paced back and forth from the kitchen to the living room, then sat down and eventually fell asleep. I managed to get through it that night, but was still confused as to what had happened. Few days go by and all these symptoms come and go. To name a few; Felt like i couldn't breathe, Random pains here and there, and the worst, The intrusive thoughts.
A week goes by, and I could still not figure out what was wrong with me, I start to panic yet again and finally decide to go to the hospital. So there I am thinking I can possibly have 10 different things wrong with me, only to find out that Im perfectly fine. All the test, bloodwork, ekgs everything normal! They tell me it's anxiety. I decided to get a second opinion and I am told the same exact thing. I have GAD and Panic disorder. I've had my ups and definitely had plenty of downs and still do now and then, but I guess the only difference is now i've learned how to handle it better and found techniques to make it easier for me to get through. I do still have times where it's just soo hard to get through the day. So I've finally decided to sign up. It's comforting to know that there are other people who are in the same boat, it makes you feel less alone. So Hi everyone! I hope to get some more help on here, and to support anyone else in anyway I can. :)
