Hi all!
I am new to not only this forum, but forums in general. I started looking at forums only recently after my counsellor suggested I look into anxiety groups for some support.
I have recently been diagnosed with both General Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder; although I freely admit I have probably had both to some degree for most of my life.
I am on medication and have been going to counselling and things are starting to look better, but I am still very much struggling. I have started a blog to help me catalogue my thoughts and feelings about living with anxiety, but I also am looking to find some support from other people who get it.
I don't know anyone else who has anxiety to the same degree as me. Although I have friends and family who try to support me, there is a definite barrier between them and me in terms of their understanding of what anxiety REALLY is. I am hoping that through being active amongst these forums, and on my blog, that I will get to meet other people and hear their stories, and hopefully get my brain to finally understand that I am not alone, and that I am not abnormal!
So thank you in advance for the support, and I look forward to returning it :)
