So my mom has SEVERE OCD, anxiety & depression. Her biggest problem is the OCD though. It's really bad. Her psychiatrist put her on Zoloft & it helped a lot. But then she had surgery & came off the Zoloft. About 2 months later, they tried her on it again. But this time they had no success. She's now on Prozac & has been for a month but it's not helping at all. She said it's making her angry actually.
She sees her psychiatrist on the 7th to talk about meds..
Anyone deal with severe OCD & have success from a med? Which one? I know the psychiatrist had mentioned adding something along with the ssri like ability or something.

Luvox is commonly prescribed for OCD. A lot of people seem to find it effective. I think it's what most psychs prescribe to OCD patients, so it could be worth a try.

Prozac = Luvox :)
Oops no it isn't. WTF I was on them interchangably?

Go home, Gypsy. You're drunk!!
EDIT: Actually, I'll let you off cos they sound the same. Prozac = fluoxetine, Luvox = fluvoxamine. ;)

Thanks! I've never heard of that one before. I'll pass the info to my mom so she can discuss that med with her psych on Tuesday :)

Let us know what she opts for. Always interesting to see how people get on with their drugs. :)

I guess they decided to switch her back to Zoloft.. But put her on the highest dose. So I guess we'll see how it goes this time!
