I should put this in the news section but it's so important I'm putting it here :)

If I could teach anxious people one thing it would be this.

You're welcome! I actually want to get into counselling one day when my family circumstances are a little less unstable. God knows I have enough experience with anxiety.

Thank you for posting this gypsylee! My therapist told me about this but for some reason I've never had much luck using breathing exercises. I'll have to give this a try.

Yeah it does take a bit of practice. We're so used to shallow breathing that we have to learn to breathe using our diaphragm again. I do it now when I'm trying to fall asleep and it always seems to work.

Somewhere, PanicCured is tossing and turning in his sleep because someone has posted an article about breathing "wrong" on the forum. :)

yeah he will come, the article is awesome, it is kind of difficult to use the diaphragm breathing, and keeping doing it. It helps a lot

Once I get over my agoraphobia, I want to get into counselling as well. The only thing I'm worried about is having to much empathy and emotionally not being ready for the job...

Well I for one have noticed the diaphragm breathing working wonders for me in areas outside of anxiety. So, I am indebted to you and getwell for that.

I just "liked" on FB the guided meditation page you posted Dahila :)

Kixxi I think they teach you stuff like that in courses.

I don't do breathing exercises any more. I just do some daily meditation which takes care of me.

I did used to notice though, that if you're having heart palps, you can get rid of them in moments with some correct breathing. That's an awesome benefit.

Everytime I feel my cardiovascular system get out of balance, it seems to bring it back to.

Get calm faster in meditation.

Relaxing the body.

Bring heart rate down faster after running.

Stress relief.
