Insomnia
Ambien 10 mg, 1 at bedtime. Helped me fall asleep quick, slept only about 3 hours and i was back up. I didn't sleep all the way through.
Worked fine, but the same next day.. sluggish,dragging.. feeling
Valium Diazephem. 10 mg 3x a day
This was works for me because it's quick, it's fast, and it helps the anxiety go away.
Downside, when I feel sleepy and droggy and slugglsh. I've went to less of my dose and it balances well.
Vistaril
1 or 2 capsules needed 3 x a day . I just started- will update the feeling.
Depression
Setraline (Zoloft) ( I was given the 50mg to start me on it. Low dose.) I haven't started it yet.
I'm a bit scared. but I will start it this week.
If anyone has been taking these medications, please let me know your experiences.
Thanks

I just started setraline about a week ago 25ml and the only thing I did notice is it kind of makes my head feel funny like a light headache. It also didn't help my appetite it probably made it worse. I Didn't have an appetite before taking it. I'm thinking about quitting it cause I need to eat.

3 x 10mg Valium a day is a lot! Be careful of this because it's very addictive.
Zoloft worked well for me (as do other SSRIs I've been on). They tend to increase anxiety for a couple of weeks but that will pass. They are better long-term for anxiety/depression than things like Valium because they don't build such a tolerance.

I didn't have much of an appetite to begin with I was only eating once a day but now it's like I'm not hungry at all. I'm gonna give it a another week or two if I don't notice a change in my appetite I'll stop. Ive loss enough weight. Besides that I kinda think it is taking the edge off though.

I took Sertraline for a while. Like other drugs in this category the lack of being able to sleep and feeling like I was on cheap E's didn't really appeal to me and so I stopped before they could build up the required levels in my body.

I'm not sure what cheap E's are, but I have a low tolerance. Even though I was told the Zoloft will take a week to get in my system, maybe I'm overreacting but even at 50mg I fell asleep today not long after my1st day of taking it. I have been told several times the Valium is addictive. I'm sure that's why my memory is almost gone, forget short term, I can remember long term, but everything is fuzzy!!
My therapist suggested a pill box yesterday and it FREAKED ME OUT. Only because I don't want to become a zombie on pills....and I told her that.
She's wanting to see how I "RESPOND" to the meds. As if , there aren't enough "experienced....patients" out there. 50mg is low, my mom was on 150mg. So I don't know. I'll give it a shot!
