Hi Louis

Hey you're lucky you're getting to the point where you're getting better and you realise it's panic. The problem you are experiencing seems to be a bit of a self confidence crisis. That feeling you get in the malls is a really really common thing to feel for people with anxiety feelings, a bit like claustrophobia. I get it when I go into supermarkets, then I think what I'm feeling is showing on the outside and people are laughing at me. But you know deep down that isn't true.

You're so young to be feeling all this, what I'd suggest is working on your self image as well as the panic. There's no easy answer here as differnt things work for different people. Myself I try to avoid indoor shopping malls and stick to outside areas.

But if chatting helps please carry on.

Sounds like social anxiety.

It is a result of negative feelings or more directly "beliefs" about what you think about yourself and as a result you think that others feel the same way as you do.

You've got to ask yourself a question: How do you know what others are thinking about you?

Answer: You dont, but you swear you do because you can see them looking at you right? Wrong. You are to preoccupied with over analyzing the senario of you having negative feelings about yourself. and in turn believing that others feel the same, simply because of a look they gave you.

If you really think about it, its rather silly isn't it?

Advice: You can NEVER change what peoples reactions are about you because they have a right to their own thoughts. Besides, most of the time you are dead wrong about what you think people think about you.

Most of the time when that happens, people usually arn't even thinking about you! They are worried about whats going on in their lives. Stop thinking that you are on everyones minds, your not!

Sorry to be so direct, but this is the real truth about social anxiety. You have to learn to get out of your own mind by taking your thoughts and making them actions.

Hesitation and second guessing your actions are a major cause of anxiety and panic attacks.
