Hi,
My son is 11 years, 6th grade, in the inclusion classroom setting in a public school, and he is in the autism spectrum.
He quite often distracts very easily, can't sit still unless he is very engaged. He moves constantly unless very engaged. He say he gets lot of random thoughts always. We feel he is having lot of anxiety. He is very smart, but anxiety is impacting every aspect of his life.

Can cognitive behavioral therapy helps him? I am looking for a therapist in NJ, USA, any recommendations?

Thanks
Dad

There are psychologists and other therapists who have specific expertise in treating kids with autism or related disorders. If I were you, I would consult with such a therapist. If you don't know where to find such a person, the "Autism Speaks" organization may be able to help. http://www.autismspeaks.org/

Best wishes, Kuma
