Hi folks,

So I'll be starting on 10mg of Citalopram at the beginning of next week. I've read up a fair bit & know to maybe expect some minor side affects like nausea, headache & trouble sleeping until I get used to it.

The question, though, is what time of day is best to take it? I'd read a few comments about the side effects being reduced by taking it before bedtime. Has anyone else found this to be the case on Citalopram or any other SSRI for that matter?

Chat.

Test it out. Try it in the morning & see what it does to you. Then you'll know to take in at night or morning :)

I take Lexapro and it makes me sleepy. So did Prozac but Prozac made my friend have insomnia so we all react differently. For the most part, it seems like it tends to make people sleepy more than feeling energetic.

If it makes you feel tired try taking it at night and if it does the opposite take it in the morning. It is trial and error, you won't know until you have tried it. I hope it treats you well and it helps :)

Thanks guys! Just back from picking up my Citalopram now.

I'm going to try taking it just before bed & see how that works out. :)
