Hello All. Today is my first day with this Forum. I have read posts in here from time to time, but didn't join because I was hoping my anxiety would get better, but it hasn't. It seems to be getting worse, or new symptoms every day. Today's worry is about my chin feeling numb, nose feeling tingly. Of course when you Google the symptoms, it says cancer, death, etc. Can this be anxiety related, and come out of no where?

Welcome to the forum. To answer your question YES it can and it is. Take a look at the thread HEALTH ANXIETY EXPOSED it's a good one that fourteen14 has going.
There is a whole dang bunch of us just like you. P.S. stop googling ( if you can ) lol.
Good luck and never hesitate to ask a question.

Thank you John. I find it so weird to have anxiety symptoms out of no where, well out of no where to me. I guess if something has been stressful, it can be built up symptoms, but when they come out of no where, it is scary. They seem so real. So, now that I am part of a forum, and speaking to others that understand me, I will definitely stop googling. I swear it causes more stress and more symptoms. No one chooses to be like this, but it is comforting knowing you are not alone. How long have you been dealing with anxiety, John?

I have had it a very long time, 20+ years. The last 13 have been much worse.

I too have had it for a very long time. I have dealt with panic attacks here and there, but never needed medication, until recently. Let me tell you, that seemed to be a mistake to see a PCP, and just be a thrown on a medication. The side effects were crazy. Next, I was dealing with withdrawal symptoms. Now, I am seeing a Naturopathic doctor but everyday is hard. I don't know if my new symptoms are from the Chinese Herbs, or my life. If you don't mind me asking, do you take medication for your anxiety, John?

I take xanax for the panic attacks and I take vitamin D3 because i do not get the sun that I should or used to get. I was on Paxil for 13 years and it did help get me through a rough patch of my life but I put on the pounds so I decided to get off of it. The withdrawal was crazy.

Hi MAM,

Welcome to the forum. You have come to a good place here.

I too am a long time sufferer of anxiety, but am happy to say that I'm pretty much recovered and have few attacks now.

Sorry you had such trouble with meds, some people do well, others not so much.

Currently I only take 1/4 of a diazepam tablet if I notice an attack creeping up on me.

If I read your posts correctly, I believe you said you are seeing a naturopath. If so, that's a good plan. I am currently under the care of a naturopath and although it's been just under a week, I can say that his plan of action with me seems to be heading in the right direction. My anxiety issues are compounded with severe adrenal fatigue and other issues.

One of the things which I believe is helping me is the relatively high amounts of magnesium/ calcium he has me on. The magnesium seems to help calm my whole nervous system, so I can concentrate on keeping my thoughts from going down crazy roads.

If you are seeing someone, ask him/ her about magnesium, it could be one of the building blocks your body needs to help combat this. Also , stay away from dr. Google.

Cheers,
Pam

One more thing, if it's only been a short time with the new herbs and vitamins then it certainly could just be your body in shock from actually getting the nourishment it needs. I know I felt like that for the first few days, today I actually feel a bit better.

No problem, Pam is a good one to talk to and if you post something on this thread i should see it. Did you send a private message ( PM )?

Hi Pam,
Thank you. I was hoping this was a good, legit place. How long have you suffered from anxiety? I am happy to read you are on the road to recovery. I hope to be there soon. Thank you. What is diazepam? I love my Naturopathic doctor, but with the side effects, withdrawals, and the stress of everyday life, I sometimes wonder if I would be better back on a pill? I had heard something about the symptoms I have been having could be from low potassium, low magnesium/calcium, so I got some from my Naturopathic doctor but it upsets my stomach. What were your anxiety symptoms? Physical symptoms? I need to NEVER Google another symptom. I am a wreck right now.
