My mom started 25mg this morning.. She said it made her feel sick..
Should she take it with food? Or is upset stomach just a start up side effect??

Yes, the side effects can last between 4-6 weeks.....they do start to lessen over time and eventually you start to feel the benefits.

As far as taking it with food....that isn't necessary. It can cause stomach upset, so I take my dose right before bed.

They are very hit and miss . You need to try whats best for you . Night / morning . Food / no food . If one dont work try the other . But yes upset stomach is one of the common side effects . Wish your mum well :)
Thank you Forwells!! :)

When I first started Zoloft, I had stomach sickness for around a week or so, then I was good! So just a starting off effect yeah.

Okay awesome!! She said they come in spurts throughout the day. She's gonna try taking it tomorrow morning with food to see if it might help a little.

When does everyone take their Zoloft? My mom takes it in the morning but wants to switch to night. It's making her tired.

Okay thanks :)
The real side effect your mom should be worried about is the potential for sertraline to make her feel worse at first. I remember being pretty upset one day a couple weeks after starting a 50mg dosage even though I had no reason to. Thankfully, that should also go away with time as your body and brain get used to the medication.

Yea I take it and it makes my stomach upset sometimes. Take it with milk, that helps. Most likely this symptom will pass once she is on it for a few weeks.
