Hi

I have anxiety all due to being overwhelmed with life, college, and diseases.

Hi primetime,
Nice to have you here. I definitely experience anxiety from those things too. Life can be really challenging and then add on top of that problems with anxiety and things can just snowball from there!!! This place is a great forum to come and glean ideas, wisdom, and stories and to share your own. I hope you find it as helpful and welcoming as I do!

Thank you for the greeting.

I work full time, college full time, Crohns Disease 24/7, and am newly diagnosed to ulcers, hemorrhoids, gaping fissure, 3 bloody fistulas, arthrits, bloody stools... and Im sure im missing something.

All of this has caused me anxiety and attacks. I spoke to a psychiatrist and she tried 2 antidepressants that didnt work at all. She finally put me on Ativan 0.5mg and I had a sever attack today after finding out I have to go to a nearby cancer center for treatment. The Ativan did not help.

Is it possible? I thought ativan is suppose to make the anxiety/panic go away.

Now I dont know what to tell my psychiatrist.

The intention is the Ativan helps soothe panic and anxiety. I have Ativan as well for my just-in-case moments. It usually works, but it hasn't always.. it can be frustrating but there are stronger doses and other meds to try. Don't get discouraged just yet.

I'm sorry for how many challenges you're encountering with your health. Do you have a good support system? What's your diet like? When did all of this begin?

Began 2009 :( and I have a horrible support system. My brother recently has told me he wished I would die from colon cancer.
