Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum, just joined a few days ago. I've been reading other peoples posts and chiming in here and there. I'm glad to see something like this where people can get advice and help each other.

I've had anxiety bad for about 7 years, off and on. Mostly on when I get sick or sidelined by injury/illness. I own a business and used to work non stop. For about the last year, I've been sick here and there, a few times to the point where I've had to be on bed rest. I'm injured now from the gym and have been for about 19 weeks. I went from anxiety free at the gym daily to sitting at home everyday, crying, overly anxious, slightly depressed, paranoid and overall just terrible feeling.

I can't workout yet, and I feel terrible, like my life is wasting away. Any advice for me? How do I keep a positive mindset with all of this?

My injuries:

Pinched nerves in both shoulders causing numbness in both arms from bench pressing at gym

Pinched nerves in butt muscles causing sciatica in both legs due to gym exercises

Swollen trap muscles due to bursitis in both shoulders from gym exercises sometimes causing dizziness, heavy head, stiff back

Acid reflux(severe) and indigestion

Sinus pressure/pain

I don't have much family. My husband is all I have. Hoping to get advice on how to cope with all this...

Hi i can relate to the pressure of owning your own business. The key is balance of work time, and me time. its easy to carry on your work even when you have finished for the day. i sometimes wake up at crazy hours in the morning thinking i forgot something or some other work related thought. As for your gym workouts the gym is a great place to release stress. So i would say that your non stop work ethics are not currently getting any vent for stresses built up from your work as u are unable to participate at the minute. cardiovascular exercise is great for stress relief cycling is a good one that don't put much pressure on any certain group set of muscles and its free.. after you have a bike of course. :)

Hey again lol,

Thanks for this! I think that I may take my metoprolol today which was given to me as needed. I do own a bike so I'll try to ride today as well. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. I don't have many friends so I just want to say thanks for trying to help me with what I'm going through. You're awesome.
