Shouldn't my antidepressant keep me from being a 2 on the mood scale?

I'm on prozac and remeron and at first felt better, but I still have times where my mood is like a 2 and I just want to crawl in a hole and die. Is this normal or should the medication be keeping me from feeling so bad? I've tried many antidepressants and I've always had times that are up and down regardless...do I need to continue trying different med combinations? Or is this as good as it gets for me?

How long since you began the meds?

It's been over a month and almost 2 weeks since I increased the remeron. I know it takes up to a month to be fully effective, but it has been that long! I just thought the "right medication" would keep me from getting into the bowels of the hellish 2 feeling....it has kept me from feeling a 1 where suicide is on my mind constantly, so that's a good thing...
