Ok so pysch said I should try Zyprexa 2.5 mgs. I'm scared. I don't know that my symptoms match this med and I am VERY concerned. I am not bi-polar nor whatever else it is used for. I have high anxiety and depression. Have tried so many ssri's Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Anyone know of this drug. At my wits end!

Thanks please be honest good or bad.

We're all wired so different.

I used it as a sleep aid for insomnia for several days until it started to amplify everything in my ears times 50. It was so weird. 2-5mg wafers knocked me out though.

Thanks 13th, I don't know if I am going to take this. Supposed to pick it up tomorrow. Heard it puts on tons of weight to. I have already put on 30mlbs. from mirtazapine and more weight would surly put me out!!! I am assuming you stopped it?

Yep, gave it another day after I noticed the change in my ears. They went back to normal in a few days. Wasn't much fun, I gotta say.

I read it puts on a lot of weight too.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

I usually take it at night. However I sometimes take it prn to quell irritability and anger. The good thing is that this med lacks initial start up symptoms. It is a brilliant sleeping pill. I used to take 15 mgs . Now I take 7.5 mgs. Max dose is 20 mg.

I took zyprexa 5 mg at night for about a month. I loved the way it made me feel...the best, most happy feeling I can ever remember. What I didn't like were the side effects. I had ringing in my ears at times, and parasthesia where the lower half of my body felt like it was asleep, and I started gaining weight immediately. I was hungry all the time and wanted to eat constantly. I'm still recovering from the terrible depressive episode I had when I went off zyprexa. I'm on abilify now, but it definitely does not work as well as zyprexa did. I hope this helps!
