Hello everyone,
I was told by my doctor today that the tissue inside my rectum looks like it's riddled with"Swiss cheese holes" that could indicate Crohn's disease. I made an appointment to see another doctor on Monday who might be able to refer me to a specialist in these matters. I've heard that getting a diagnosis in this disorder can take years and many doctor's visits, probably because it isn't super common. I know two people with this disease, one is pursuing a degree in nutrition to learn more about her illness and help others, while the other has had most of his intestine removed. I've wondered about this disease in the past because I occasionally get awful stomach cramps, but never saw a doctor because I assumed it was IBS.
Does anyone have any advice on how to help doctors get to a faster diagnosis on this thing? Thanks...
