New insomnia :(

I've developed some new insomnia lately while I've been off work due to high stress job and doc trying to figure out some stuff my heart does. (Hopefully anxiety) the first few nights I couldn't sleep out of fear. Now, I just lay here and play games on my phone. Visit this forum. Lol or go social networking. Any tips on how a person with panic disorder and afraid to take meds...can fall asleep. I even get anxiety whilst taking a ativan to calm the anxiety. Ergh. Lol any ideas?

Must overcome the fear of medications, before anything the Doc is even looking at will work. Ativan has never killed anyone alone. The meds that you'll need to calm down, stop worrying about your heart, and go to sleep have never killed anyone either....so, turn the mind off and take your meds.

It's just how it has to be in order to recover and beat this disorder or multiple disorders for now..

1. take the meds
2. put the phone away
3. stop searching the internet a good hour before heading to sleep.
4. Make a routine before bed
5. have a glass of milk
6. Have a camomille tea or lemon balm tea, works as sleeping aid. ...
Ativan I was on it for years not really upping the dose, I still take it occasionally, look at my avatar I live on this planet for some time...:) Taking med every day:)

I have insomnia as long as I remember, as a child It was horrible, I was in bed for hours before I went to sleep. It was pretty scary. I have to be in bed, and quiet and my imagination was running wild. Hehehe Insomnia is a bitch and it adds to anxiety of course

I want to know too. Frankie Zoplicone helps you to fell asleep, it does not keep you sleeping for whole night. When I fall asleep I usually can go back to sleep, never mind I wake up like 5 times. When you wake up, do not think, try to go back to sleep. I know easy to say not to do. I have been there and I still get the sleepless night, you see me here at very strange hours.....
For me works this ; clonazepam 0.5 mg at 8 pm which is 20 h in Europe, and a half of zoplicone before sleep.
I knock myself out with that combination:))
I do not recommend it to anyone, I am highly resistant to benzos after decades of taking them
