Hello to all. I have an upcoming Dr.s appointment, next Tuesday. I never seem to have a problem talking to people, but I always have the hardest time explaining what's wrong. The Dr. will ask.... "What's going on with you?", and I always freeze up for some reason, from nervousness, and major anxiety. But, even though I'm in the middle of a family issue, regarding a son, these problems were there before, and I've just now found a new Dr. since we moved. I am currently taking Pristiq 100mg, and Lamictal 300mg. Which I thought seemed to work, but isn't. I have fibromyalgia, and some chronic pain conditions, and my Pain Dr. suggested Cymbalta. He said it worked with Fibromyalgia, and nerve pain. In the past I took Abilify with my antidepressant, and I think it worked pretty well. I say "think", because it was shortly after it came out, and just cannot remember. So, I'm thinking about switching to Cymbalta and getting back on the Abilify. My antidepressant alone, just isn't working. Any feedback from any one, on both drugs Cymbalta and Abilify, and how they worked for you, would be greatly appreciated. And I've been given a lot of advice in the past on how to talk to and ask my Dr. questions. But even if I write them down, I'm so nervous, I don't even look at the questions I wrote. I'm tired of my eyes welling up with tears, at the blink of an eye. I just want some relief. Thank you all. Dorrie

Hi Dorrie , it is nice to see you. Eman can give you some feedback on Abilify, and Cymbalta works for the pain too but I am not sure it will help you with your kind of pain. Maybe..I bet someone will be posting here shortly :))

I don't know why I put for pain. However, I do have a bit of additional pain from the Fibro, but not a lot. More of the other symptoms that comes with Fibro. My Pain Dr. writes me something for my chronic pain for my back, neck, and knee conditions. Just FYI. This is more about medicine for anxiety and depression. I just don't understand, I take Klonopin, and still struggle with Anxiety. Anyone else experience this? Thanks D.

Hey my Dee Dee friend!!! Thank you so much just for caring and writing in. My Pain Dr. showed on his site that he handles and treats Fibromyalgia, but Does Not!!! When my insurance kicks in I'm just going back to my professional Dr. in that area. He just charges tons for an out of pocket visit. Right now, I'm just going to a M.D. to get some relief. If I can!!! lol. You know I told you he said I was a "Complicated Case", and acted like he didn't want to treat me. lol. That is why I'm finding a new Pain Dr. Complicated.... me?? ha ha. Gotta run for now, and take my little guy to the Dr. He is sick, with a Sinus Infection if I had to guess. Will check back in with the site later. And talk to you later girl. Dorrie

YES!!! Cymbalta and Abilify!! Perfection=Happy Dorrie!....

Hi Dahl and Frankie!!..You girls are ALWAYS there for everyone, love that!...and a great big yes to taking notes along with you (or anyone that has anxiety and starts freaking out in a Doc's office) as these issues are hard to talk about, explain, etc,..because they're just "feelings".....and only we can understand a feeling..:)

Have a great day you gurly's!..LMAO!!

Good , good I am happy Eman see us, as the good ones. Hehe I would not dream of going to my GP without list. I avoid visits like a hell. She is old stupid, and has a lot of anger problems, and she is addicted to botox, so it is scary to see her face. You never know with her what direction the wind will go. the other one Psychiatrist; I think I need to make the list too. thanks to this forum I smile more, cry too and laugh my head off sometimes, where is Jesse?

Hey Dorrie,

Understandable to be nervous on the upcoming Doc appointment.. I'm a bit of the same. I can't think of what to say or how to explain how I'm feeling once I'm there. I like Frankie's idea of just handing him a prepared list and having him read the questions or bullet points so your problems can be fully addressed. Another thing I can't stand; Rude Doctors. Why some of them are, I don't know, but get rid of him and find a better one. If a Doctor won't take you seriously, why should you take him seriously?

Hoping you'll get some relief soon, Dorrie ! ..... :)

Dorrie, hi.

Yes you're E man may know more on the meds. As far as dealing with the doctor can I suggest you write it down in bullet points, enter the room and say ....hi, I'm very nervous right now can you read this please?..and hand it over to your doc....... Then you are directing what you want to discuss but the doc can share opinions with you on the bullet points. You can leave knowing all your wishes or concerns have been addressed.

Just an idea, no harm in trying is there?
Good luck Dorrie.

Thank you, my newbie friend!! Great advice. And girl, he's not my E-Man, he's all of ours!! There for us all. Teases us all, and he/we love him just the way he is. Oh, you too, Jesse!!

You are right of course Dorrie, he has to be shared about! He and Jess are always there for everyone. We adore you guys for it.

Agree with you %100!! I'm in the waiting room waiting for them to call my little guy back. He has Asthma, but is congested with infection and needs antibiotic. He's such a trooper. When I get real lonely, I talk to him. Lol. NOT ABOUT ANYTHING ABOUT ME!!! Just about school and the latest Avenger he likes the most. Ha ha!! Desperation WILL OR CAN make you chat with your kids. Ha ha

Excellent. I do this often. Try to stick with the symptoms, not why you theorize that you have them. Two examples.

1. Pain in left knee cap.
2. Pain in left hip.
3. Tingling in big toe on left foot.

1. Sharp pain in left temple.
2. Scalp tingles left and right sides.
3. Sensitive to light.
4. Anxiety worsens during pain.

If you write a dissertation, he/she may not read the entire thing.
