I haven't been on here in quite some time! :( I hope you are all doing well and I shall definitely aim to post more often!

Anyway, I have a quick question or just kind of those statement sort of threads where I need reassurance that I'm not the ONLY one experiencing this "insanity" or side-effect ;) As of mid-August of this year, I was prescribed 50mg of Zoloft (Sertraline) daily. Only as of last week or so, I have been experiencing nightmares and have been waking up in quite a distressed, upset mood. I wouldn't say the dreams are exactly what others would call as "nightmares" but they upset me because they contain scenarios that would make me personally anxious and overly emotional in reality (ie: missing time at school and falling behind, people being curt with me, etc.). It was only last night where I had my first violent, gory dream. It was very disturbing to say the VERY least :( I also recognize that I am under much stress with school and the social anxiety aspects of the holiday season, so I'm also curios if the pressure has caused disturbances and unpleasant dreams in my sleep?

Has anyone else ever experienced spontaneous nightmares whilst taking Zoloft, or is this all in my head? ;)

I have very vivid dreams I wake up 2 or 3 times a night and when I do I don't have a clue where I am, I dream of my late dad and always in my dream he dies obviously stems from his death 2 years ago when I am asleep my partner says I am talking non stop which is a new thing then when I wake through the night I am poking him to bring myself back to reality

It apparently stems from your anxiety and its your minds way if showing you what's causing the anxiety

P.s I am also on 50mg

Yes! A fellow-vivid dreamer! :D I wake up quite a bit as well with mild confusion and a bit of a surreal feeling. My therapist also told me awhile back that it was my anxiety sprouting up in my sub-conscious... It's like we can never escape, huh? ;)

Haha no I don't think we will ever escape until we take those fears away and accept them not sure I am so ready to go that yet but I am getting there the dreams haven't been so bad this week

I have crazy nightmares sometimes too, when I'm on Zoloft and when I'm not.
