I have never personally posted in this section, but the subject matter seems appropriate for as such.
For the past 19 months, I have lived in chronic pain. That'll happen, when your cartilage dissolves in all of your joints.
I had been prescribed many, many different things in this period of time, and none of which really seemed to work for this specified purpose, other than medications that are not recognized as being "pain relievers" at all. They aren't (generally) prescribed for this purpose.
When I had tramadol, vicodin, norco, and oxycontin,..honestly, I was still in pain and then yet also, pissed off at everyone and everything.
I hated them. (most people love them, hence: drug addicts that destroy their lives). Thank God I don't have that mentality, I have every other mentality.
I quit taking literally everything last November with the exception of my (2) steroids. They provide me with a semi-ability to walk, move, think.
Then in April I figured that I had better get back on my ADD, narcolepsy meds because I had slept for 3 months (caused by disease). I got those back as requested. They helped me to stay awake, like normal people do..during the day. They also relieve some of my anxiety too, oddly enough. Hence:ADD/ADHD
So just this past past Thanksgiving, (which is when I quit my anti-anxiety meds cold turkey although I still have them) my Doc suggested that I try them again to see if they'd help all of these life "issues" not be so overwhelming or smothering. I agreed, ok, I will.
She also offered and suggested an antipsychotic med as well, considering I have a psychotic disorder that erupts occasionally, but I am well versed in how to handle it. I go hide from everyone. LOL!
I got them, took them, have terrible hiccups (caused by something else I now know) but I must say that I have not felt pain at this minimal levels, since May of 2012.. They're not even, painkillers. At this moment and throughout this day, I am seriously wondering why I have to even have MRI's on Monday (although I know that the damage is still there, I just can't "feel" it)..and I reallllllllyyyyyy like it too.
Hell I can even walk semi-normally now, in just 3 days.
And, I'm ready for whatever life decides that it wants to throw at me now too because I may just save 100% on stress by switching to not giving a ****...
My consumer ratings on Xanax XR and Abilify: I would highly recommend them to someone who just can't seem to "breakthrough" and get their life back.
I never really lost that, I just lost everything else..but as it stands, I know the issues are still there. They just can't sit before me and stare me in the face now..

Best wishes.

Another day, another new drug.
When my new Doc prescribed an NSAID, prednisone, atenolol to use daily, she also prescribed prilosec at the same time. Last January. I have taken the first 3, every day. The prilosec, I never took because I didn't have stomach distress, heartburn, acid reflux. I donated the bottle to a not for profit clinic instead, why take them if I didn't need them. I wish I wouldv'e had them on Thursday. I bought some instead. I know that everyone has had hiccups a time or two, and probably complained about how annoying they are for the short time they've had them. Having them for nearly 15 fuggin hours, is hell. With reflux, with severe chest pains, makes life difficult. I am A OK now. I still won't run out and eat barbeque ribs though. I would still die, yes, I don't need a rope, gun, or blade to bring me to the threshold of death. All I need do is stop by McDumbasses and get a #4 super size meal and eat the whole thing, that would feel like death to me. I can eat NOTHING from an animal, nor can I eat white potatoes either (nightshade) because they're poisonous. And so is the goop that they cook them it too. Artery clogging fats, although I think that maybe the Gov is forcing everyone to change that if they haven't already. Well isn't that interesting? Why would a Government in a Nation of 300 million people wish to take the time to force and implement a new plan for the food industry to make them prepare foods differently than they do? Because the foods that they produce and prepare, will KILL you. Just like that bullshit MIO sport drink fluid, but, everyone still buys it and drinks it without wondering, WTF is this stuff? IDK but it sure taste good and I can put it in my purse. Oddly enough, I seem to feel weird, unwell, kinda sickly, and I'm anxious, and my BP is high? Hmmmm,...wonder why? THERE IS AN ANSWER FOR EVERYTHING, you just have to be willing to find it. What you PUT into your body, is (generally) what you will get out of your body...Our bodies are 70% WATER. Do you ever drink WATER? Why don't the anatomy books say that our bodies are 70% MIO, Pepsi, Coke, Monsters, Coffee?...If you REALLY want a precisely performing machine (body) then feed it with precision.

To close this rant, I would like to say that for the year I've been here and read through most all of these forum posts, I see more of "OMG my chest hurts and my heart is racing and this must be a heart attack" than anything else. Self-created-inflicted-fear and the perfect breeding grounds for of course, anxiety. Well, to my knowledge, no one that I had ever seen post things like that ever had a heart attack, stroke, clot, tumor, or died either....they EVENTUALLY realized that it was more than likely, GER or GERD. Which, is easily corrected with a mere .50 tablet. Within, 10 minutes.

My suggestions to you friends, before you focus all of your internal mind power and energy on the false fact that death is imminent and the grim reaper is looking over your shoulder waiting for his moment, think about what you just put into your body first, and then have mum, mom, brother, sister, dad, or Cousin Eddie go get you some PRILOSEC and stave off the horrors of everyone that you wish not leave behind today...because of that taco you just ate and that diet coke you just drank, for lunch.

Which is more terrifying? An ambulance, ER, hospital, Doctors, needles, scanners, tubes, monitors, injections, bills,.....or a tablet that cost 50 cents, just to "see" if that's maybe the real problem?

Anyway, take these words in any way you wish but know this. I'm just trying to help, not hurt a feeling..unique to you.

Have a great day!

We have a dog with a sensitive stomach, it's been that way all of his life. He can eat chicken, turkey, bread with butter, white rice, and various dog foods (by no means all), but becomes sick on various fast and prepared foods we occasionally eat. We have started to wonder how bad these foods are for us, if a dog can't eat it, why should a human?

There are some people that believe the food people eat has been engineered for "soft kills", i.e. to cause disease, as Scrooge said "to reduce the surplus population."

My wife and I avoid a growing number of foods and additives. For instance, from Wiki:

"Azodicarbonamide is used in the American food industry as a food additive, a flour bleaching agent and improving agent. It reacts with moist flour as an oxidizing agent. The main reaction product is biurea, a derivative of urea, which is stable during baking. Secondary reaction products include semicarbazide and ethyl carbamate. The United States permits the use of azodicarbonamide at levels up to 45 ppm. In Australia and Europe the use of azodicarbonamide as a food additive is banned."

"The principal use of azodicarbonamide is in the production of foamed plastics as an additive. The thermal decomposition of azodicarbonamide results in the evolution of nitrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and ammonia gases, which are trapped in the polymer as bubbles to form a foamed article."

Why would I want this in my bread? We had a loaf of bread my son claimed smelled like plastic. Thinking it was the sleeve, I removed the loaf. Sniffing the sleeve, no smell was discernible. Sniffing the loaf wreaked of plastic. A complaint to the company got us a coupon for two loaves. We never used the coupon nor bought any more of their products. Not sure if the above substance caused it, it was in the ingredients.

Yes my friend,

I am overly aware and overly sensitive to what I eat, although I wish I could eat more than I do. It's extremely boring, bla, dull. I've had to eat the same foods since February for health reasons. There are many, many chemicals that studies have shown to promote certain conditions, diseases, disorders, but oddly enough, they're still allowed into the food supplies and people still eat them even with the vast abundance of information available about them. It's all too common that if it "taste" good, then there must not be anything worth investigating about it. I do many studies about the (natural) foods in their most natural states and find many "good" chemicals in them and I can actually feel the effects of them as well. There are some extremely potent and beneficial chemicals in many different types of produce for sure. Turnip greens, and beets, being the two I'm presently studying because of the good effects of them after ingestion. Oregano is another one that is very interesting too..

I had thyroid cancer, discovered by accident while imaging something else, biopsied, inconclusive, then the half with the nodules removed. 5 days later, come to find out it's cancerous, so I had to wait 5 weeks for it to "heal" so they could remove the other half. Sheesh. That removed, I had to wait a few weeks, get a body scan, and a teeny tiny amount of thyroid is left. I then had to take radioactive iodine to kill the remnants.

They warned me that the radiation was going to kill my tastebuds, boy was that an understatement. I went to McDonalds one morning for an Egg McMuffin, it tasted like cardboard. I lost 10 lbs or more until my tastebuds came back online. Interesting that without the drive to satisfy the taste, eating assumed a different purpose, I believe "sustenance" comes to mind.

We used to "eat to live", now we "live to eat".

Thanks for the suggestions.

Be well.

You are a Warrior.

I know that mindset well friend. Yes, I have to only eat to live but my friends can do just the opposite. Oddly enough, they all complain about how bad they feel or how unhealthy they look. Hmmm, really? Well, that's weird. I try not hurt their feelings and tell them why, there is an answer.

I literally just had dinner. Raw kale, brocolli, sweet potato, beets, hummus, and slaw with no goo in it and I feel great!

We only get (1) shot at this, may has well care for the gift that we've been given.

Hummus. Mmmm, a staple here, and Pita I hope. If you like and can eat Garlic, Garlic Hummus is at least both nutritious and tasty.

I can't eat garlic, onion, peppers, black pepper, horseradish, radishes, hot sauce or anything that causes a hot taste when eaten because those chemicals will immediately travel to the areas of missing cartilage tissues (everywhere) and burn them internally..I wish I could bruh!!!

Tried to eat some real people food today, we'll see how that works out.
I've also been having to fill out some intake papers for a couple of specialist and list all the medications that I take, holy shit..
I take 10 different ones right now, each have a specific purpose and function.
If it were not for those meds, then I would suffer in each of the 10 specific areas of functional ability.
I'll list them, just not now...I'm worn out from a long day of tests, trips, repairs, and I'm just gonna sit here and watch some cartoons. LMAO! :)

Ok, additional details about my drugs/medications (specifically designed for those that aren't fond of a tablet, although it may help you greatly and assist you in ridding yourself of these tormenting disorders)
1. Testosterone 200mg injections, in my arse. Every week.
2. HCG 500iu. Twice a week, in my stomach. I do that.
3. Prednisone. 10mg every day. (disease suppression)
4. Ritalin. 60mg. Every day. (ADD/ADHD, narcolepsy)
5. Meloxicam. 15mg. Daily. (NSAID)
6. Atenolol. up to 75mg daily (BP, Beta blocker, adrenaline control)
7. Compound 6. Topical pain script. (ketaprophen, baclofen, cyclobenzaprine, dicloflonac, gabapentin, tetracaine)
8. Xanax Xr. 1mg daily. (anxiety)
9. Abilify 2.5mg daily. (anti-psychotic, anxiety, personality disorder)
10. Prilosec 20mg daily. (Ger, Gerd, chest pain, upset stomach)

I also have tramadol and norco, I don't take them. They just piss me off. IDK why.

I also take many supplements too. I've also tried them all. Most don't do as is reported that they do. DHEA is awesome for mood. Melatonin is awesome for sleep. Kava can help with anxiety as long as it isn't with a panic patient. I've got a cabinet full of all the other stuff, it remains in the cabinet.

Can't take AD's. My problem is not in the serotonin area, it is in the dopamine area.
Buspar should not be used on patients that also experience panic, only general anxiety. It will make panic worse.

Take your meds, they will make life more tolerable, and if they don't find one that does work for you.

Update:
Over these many years, I had tried many different medications. Most, without the success I was hoping for.
There is (1) that I am extremely happy with so far, and that is (ABILIFY).
It is very pricey, and the tablet is also very tiny, but wow. What a difference.
Things that used to set me off, have no affect on me after just a couple days.
Standing in lines, no problem. Being surrounded by people shopping, no problem.
Idiot drivers, no problem. Being more patient with people, no problems.
Control of a rare explosive disorder, no problem.
The downside, when friends or family ask me now in the evenings how my day was?..I generally draw a blank. Usually, I knew everything about that day.
Now, I have to think about it.
That's how it works, it "calms" the mind and thoughts...
I give this one high ratings.
I did however gain 5 pounds in 5 days, hmmm....:)

I was diagnosed with celiac disease recently. An autoimmune condition, although far less serious than yours Eman. What you're doing with the diet interests me. The idea of inflammation affecting the body badly, and Artauds comment about inflammation and amygdala activity, are not things that are just theory to me anymore, but things I feel.

I went vegan for 2 weeks, but it was lazy vegan. Definitely gonna get on an inflammation friendly diet and living plan in the new year. Been tricky to work out, as I developed a few food intolerances. Still trying to work on a diet that's intolerance friendly, as well as inflammation friendly. Almost there though after about 6months of planning and reading.

I'm living at about 60% right now because of these previous health niggles. Really wanna get that up to 90 at least. I'm 24 now, what with the anxiety and this, I'd like to be a prime beast for at least some of my life ;)

I hope your diet pays out some dividends pretty soon, I know from doing an elimination diet with previous dieticians, with 2 weeks eating 3 food items how depressing those restricted diets can be :D

Yes, at first it was like OMG is this Doc serious? But, the results were dramatic. Just for shits and giggles, I ate one small can of tuna once, then spent the next 27 hours pinned down to the couch feeling like I just got ran over by a car. I didnt repeat that again.

There are many things that we vegans can eat, but I do stick with about 12 to 15 different items anyway. I don't like to cook, cut it, put it on a plate eat it. LMAO!!.

Celiac is a digestive disorder?...IDK.

I don't just believe, I know that it is our foods that have caused most if not all of these auto-immune diseases (or also genetics in my case)

A couple of things that come to mind that you could get your hands on, oregano, olive oil, turnip greens, kale, beets, collard greens, cucumbers...I stumbled on the oregano thing one night when I put a shit ton of it on some pasta..my pains eased. It was weird. Then I just bought some oregano oil to use in tiny amounts, you don't even know its there..:)

A week on Abilify:
1. Wow.
2. It doesn't take any time whatsoever to work, it worked from day #1.
3. I am abit busy feeling, like I wanna do all kinds of things, but I can't.
4. I went into (2) stores already this am, no issues at all.
5. My psychotic disorder doesn't even exists anymore after one week. 2.5mgs a day.
6. No stomach issue, poop issue, head issue, sleep issue, nothing...no wonder it's $800 a month.
7. For all you people out there STILL stuck in a rut, worrying, thinking, wondering, wishing, feeling hopeless, helpless, down, depressed, or even anxious to beat hell,..get some of this if you can. I'm being serious here, and I'm sharing my true experience and thoughts with you all too.
8. No, I don't work for the Japanese company that made it..but they do build some long lasting cars though too. (owned Honda's since 1990 and run them all to 300K, then sell them)...
9. Got off track, sorry.
10. Great reviews so far!...I will be having a better Christmas this year. Haven't had a good one since 2005. YAY!!!! Break out the egg nog, hoes! LMAO!

Abilify gives you wings:
1. It has shortened my sleep times by hours. I like it.
2. It gives me energy so I am not so dependant on my amphetamines.
3. It makes me want to drink alot of coffee though...(maybe not but that has increased and I don't get shaky and anxious)
4. It makes me "forget" about how things impacted me.
5. It makes me forget where things are, not sure if this is good or bad, yet...
6. It makes me WANT to get outta here and go somewhere..I realllyyyy like that.
7. It makes me oblivious to most everything that used to bother me.
8. It makes me not focus so much energy and intensity on one thing at a time, I can multi task now.
9. It makes me not feel "down" at night when it gets quiet and it seems that time stands still
10. It makes me type all this shit, and so far, it has been a blessing for me!

Have a special day friends....

E. :)
