Hello, i am new here and have a question about Lorazepam (Ativan)

I have been suffering from bad anxiety for about a year now, and just started taking Lorazepam.

I started three days ago and have been taking a 1mg pill a little after i wake up each day. I feel good after i take it, a little out of it, but for sure more relaxed. Once the Lorazepam wears off i begin to feel a little anxious again, but that is usually around the time i go to sleep, so i have just been going to bed instead of taking another pill.

Should i take another one? especially if i'm not necessarily going to sleep for a little while?

I've only taken one a day ever so far, so i'm a little cautious to take a second one if my body will then want / be used to that dosage.

Should i be taking the pills at the same time everyday? Is there anything i shouldn't be doing while on Lorazepam?

Thanks for reading ::) , let me know

If I choose not to take one because i know i can just fall asleep is that bad? will i feel more anxious in the morning from accumulation?

Also if i take a second one, will i react weirdly the next day at night if i don't want to take a second one again?

thanks for your help

One more thing, should i try to be taking the pills at the same time everyday? / does it matter if i'm on an empty stomach?

Cheers

I don't think empty stomach is an issue with ativan.

Yes, you should try and take around the same time daily, but if you find you can take it "only as needed" I would try that first, especially since you've only been taking it for 3 days. Then you won't have to worry about taking it at the same time.

I would try and avoid the 2nd one unless you really need it. If you do however, it won't make you feel more anxious in the morning, it will probably if anything make you more tired. Hope this helps.

I'd take/try 1/2 mg AM and PM and see how it goes. 1mg is plenty if you feel "a little out of it" so 1/2 mg may be enough. Alankay

If you need the full 1mg in the AM just take 1/2 mg at/before bed and see how it goes. Alankay

i have some of the same questions. I seem to wake up early almost every day now, in a sort of startled state. today I was able to get back to sleep after an hour for one more hour of sleep. I wonder too on weekends if I should take it at the same time I would if I was going to work.
