Hey guys,

I've had anxiety/depression for about ten years now, and was against using medication until this year. I started on 50mg of Zoloft three months ago, and thought it was making a difference, but then its effects seemed to have stalled so I gradually increased to 150mg, which I'm on now. However, I really don't feel like this medication is working as well as it should. I always considered medication as a last resort, so now I'm worried that medication isn't going to work for me at all. Has anyone else had experiences where one med hasn't worked, but another has? Any advice, and encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

It happens all the time. If Zoloft is not working then there are others(Fluoxetine,Citalopram,Escitalopram,Paroxeti ne). Here is a list of Antidepressants-

Yeah, I've tried a few and some have started well, then fizzled out, some just never got going.

Usually it's recommended to try another 1 or 2 of the same class, then to try a different type.

Quite a few people have to try several before finding something that clicks, don't worry about it, it's pretty normal :)
