Hi all,
Is anyone on Celexa? I was and went off because it was not working for me. Please reply. Alita.

I'm not on celexa but I'm on Prozac with buspar and Ativan for emergencies. It is working very well for me so far but it took a while to get dosage right and for the side effects to subside.

Hi there,
Thanks for letting me know. I was on Celexa but made me feel like a zombie. It stole my appetite; which led to anorexia all over again. I sought therapy and so far, it is working well. I do not like medicines; but whatever works to make it through the day, let it be so. Take care. Alita

Ya I have the same issue with appetite. I drink those carnation breakfast essentials shakes. A couple packets mixed with milk is tasty and keeps my nutrition up

That's really great advice. I also have used applesauce, yogurt, etc. Drinking lots of decaf. tea! Ice cream :)

I am on Prozac. Until about a week and a half ago I was only on 10 mg, now I am taking 40 mg a day. I feel awful...I can't stop crying and I feel sick. Are these side affects or my anxiety? Does this mean it isn't working for me? I feel like I am trapped in a dark cloud. I am really mad at anxiety/depression!

That is a big increase so give it some time. If by the end of the week you don't notice anything starting to get better than call the doc and see what he/she thinks. Always good to have a very open dialogue with doc.

Thanks for your feedback. I kind of feel less anxious today, but feel really tired and worn out. I just want to be normal again:(

I know the feeling all too well. Hang in there and give the meds time to work. They can take a long while to get max benefit

Do you feel worse in the mornings? Or did you? I always wake up super anxious.

Ya mornings were pretty bad. They didn't give you ativan or something while the meds settle in. The meds can def increase anxiety at first. I had the worst panic attacks the first week. Most of which I woke up with.

They did give me Ativan but I am trying not tot take it, because I don't want to rely on it. I also can't take it and drive to work. I kind of feel like I can feel the Prozac trying to kick in, but it is kind of making me feel weird. It's hard to explain the feeling right now. I feel tired and really awake at the same time.

That's what you have the Ativan for. To get you through till the meds kick in fully. Try a smaller dose or something. You won't come to rely on it after a few weeks here and there
