I have been on atleast 15 different medications ans cocktails. Nothing helps at all. I feel like the medicine doesn't work and never will. Does anyone feel like that?

Hi fullcollapse. Welcome to the site. As Alankay says, I would also be very interested to hear what medications you have tried.

Honestly, I can relate to how you feel though as I am also not having too much luck with medication. I have depression and GAD with specific phobias and occasional panic attacks. Over the past 15 years I've been on Prozac, Paxil, Celexa, Effexor, Zoloft and Lexapro. They help a little, but not enough. (In dire emergencies I take Ativan or Valium for panic attacks).

However, when I posted about this on this site previously it was pointed out to me that pretty much all the medications I have tried have been in the same class (SSRI's/SNRI's). So now I'm considering switching to a different type of medication altogether - Remeron/Mirtazapine.

At any rate, do let us know which medications you have tried.

Try to control your anxiety and don't let your mind take over you ! You don't need medicine you just need to be a strong person and trust in god and don't let anxiety take over you

Weed makes it work. Is there any weed that doesn't have the anxiety side effects?

Bad idea dude, anyone with anxiety problems, makes it worse. I tried for a while, had to give it up, made me paranoid and terribly afraid of the world. I,m on a new med that makes me feel I can take on anything the world has to offer. I,m currently learning how to fly a airplane, and skydiving. The adrenaline rush used to freeze and freak me out. Now it empowers me.

If someone says God is not an option, then I suggest you respect that view. God is NOT an option for me either fullc0llapse and I won't tolerate anyone trying to impose such a view once I reject it. The word is like an old worn out rag that seeks to always be right.

About the recommendation to use Weed - That's utter nonsense. No one in their right mind can claim to use such a drug for controlling anxiety. There is a reason Weed is well known to induce schizophrenia - the suggestion to use it as a stabilizer is ludicrous.

As for medication not working for you - and other methods not working for you - then my suggestion is don't try at all, and see what happens.

Have the docs ruled out any organic cause for your anxiety? Hyperthyroid, etc??? Have you had psychotherapy which should be tried first...........in a ideal world. Thanks. Alankay

I am hypothyroid. And I have done years of psychotherapy. I'm sort of just trying to go about it without anything right now. I seem to be doing okay surprisingly haha aside from the anxiety.

I have Fibromyalgia ( cronic pain syndrome) prescribed Tramadol helps a lot with pain and also keeps my anxiety in check. I was smoking weed because of the pain, but it really F..ked me up because of my anxiety condition, had to quite, best thing I ever done. Really have my shit together now, been on it for about 3 months. I also take .5 mg of lorazepam when needed to help with sleep. Eating right and exercise helps a lot too. I also meditate, that helps a lot too for my anxiety. I'm like one of those freaking Buddist monks now. I use the deep breathing and mindfulness style of meditation. Hope this helps Bye :)
