old ativan

was given some ativan from 2010 by a friend, same 1mg as was given to me by a doctor, i took one already so im not worried about it breaking down into something toxic, but i didnt notice it having any effect and i ended up taking 1 of my own as well. my question is, do you think a 3 year old ativan gets weaker or something?
before any lecture about only taking what my doc gives me and blah blah, there is a reason i needed more and its not addiction. i take them only as needed

If I was to go back years ago there was never any best before date on medication at all. Talking years here now. One way to find out would to be simply ring up the local chemist. Tell them you have some older ones and you don't know about the date on them. They will give you a straight forward free answer.
