Atenolol beta blocker question

In my other post my heart rate has been in 60s from exercising more and small dose beta blocker which scared me. I've been on this beta blocker for two years . I take 12.5 in morning12.5 in evening so very small amount. We didn't get home until 4am so I just woke up which is 1 pm. Basically I'm a few hours late taking that small dose. I woke up heart racing felt nauseous and like my heart would leap from my chest!!! My heart rate was over 120 then within 5 minutes it went down to 75. This doesn't make sense this pill cannot be so powerful to put me in 60s. Then if I'm few hours late up to 120. Someone please help me with this I am a mess right now!!!!!!

50 mg of atenolol is the base dose so your heart rate is relatively unaffected. I think you're having some anxiety. Tenormin(atenolol) won't do all that much at that dose as far as lowering the heart rate goes. Even at 25 mg unless you weigh little. Alankay

Thank you this eases my mind I just wish I knew why I have been dizzy for a month. Maybe just a coincidence that its lowered since I started exercising I just read too much into things And I freak out thanks!

I'm just scared that these beta blockers are harming my heart. I mean I've had severe heart palps since being on them. And extreme anxiety. What if its damaging my heart??? How can I be sure?

I take Toprolol 25mg twice a day, also a beta-blocker. 20 mins after taking it, my heart rate is 50-60 bpm. When it wears off (about 10 hours) it jumps up to 80-90 bpm. Unfortunately, it has a short half-life.

But is that normal for our heart rate to be jacked all around all the time?
