Has any one been successful on 10mg of lexapro? I am starting the 7th week Monday of feel some relief. No panic attacks, can drive on freeways. Just not sure what full relief feels like or if it will always be hard. Thinking about going to 15mg. Anybody in the same boat?

I'm really sensitive to meds, and so far the most successful SSRI for me was lexapro- 4mg. Such a crazy low dose!

Good luck with changing the dose if that's the route you go. Remember that you can always go back to 10 if needed.

I recently went up to 15 mg daily of Lexapro (from 10 mg) and the increase did help (and I didn't have any side effects). My psychiatrist says I can go up to 20 mg if I need to. For now I'm sticking with 15 mg though.

Glad the Lexapro is helping you. Good luck with the increase!

Thanks for the input. Did you have a noticeable difference between 10mg and 15mg? Don't want to feel over medicated. Already feel tired at times even with plenty of sleep.

Hi cascadevalley, I definitely don't feel over-medicated. If anything I feel more energized, which is good because I take Lexapro for my depression as well as my anxiety and it's been quite helpful on the depression front. My anxiety issues are pretty stubborn.

That's good to hear. What kind of anxiety issues do you have. I feel mine are pretty stubborn as well. Try not to let it get to me but it just got too much!

I got better results from fluoxetine(20 mg) but I was on 20 mg of lexapro but just found fluoxetine worked better for me. If it reduces symptom enough that you can live normally(some anxiety is normal) than it's working. Alankay

What made you switch meds? I tried paxil, it worked great but weight gain was awful. I wish I could try it again but don't want to deal with gaining weight.

I have a lot of Health Anxiety which has become a vicious cycle because I genuinely feel unwell a lot of the time. And I also have GAD with occasional panic attacks, and some phobias too! Happy Days!!! This does hold me back quite a bit, but I know there is no magic pill so I'm trying to make more effort to accept this and get on with things as best I can.
