Yes meds do work but it's up to your doc to decide which ones.

I think it depends on the individual. For some people meds are a lifesaver. For others, they help a bit. And some people can't tolerate the side effects of meds and can't take them. I'm in the second group. My meds help a bit.

I think meds are definitely worth trying. Also, it's worth trying different meds. Just because one medication doesn't work, doesn't mean that none of them will. Very often it's a case of trial and error. Hope you have a positive experience!

They have been a lifesaver for me! I am much better with them than without them. But there are so many kinds and sometimes some trial and error needs done with them before you find what works for you. And I think that can exacerbate anxiety if you don't necessarily react to one well.

SSRI's can sometimes make it worse before better but are not habit forming and usually help after a few weeks. Benzos work very well but can be habit forming but work right away. Work with your doc on meds. Alanlay
